Nu-Calgon 417175 Evap Foam

I had very very dirty coils on an older RV. The coal area is probably 18 x 20“. I had to apply this three times and ended up using the whole can. It does foam as it’s supposed to. You do need to use some water to rinse it. If you put the water in a spray bottle and just spray it, it does break the debris down. I don’t know how gentle or abrasive it is. It was on the top of aluminum trailer and when it came down, it did leave some streaks. Use caution rent immediately off your trailer for staining.

this foam saved a window A/C that i was going to trash....i was at my wits end about what to try next to clean it without doing damage....so i took a chance of this expensive foam.....i used the whole can on one unit spraying it right into the radiator that i positioned facing up, and just let it sit .... and after a few hours the foam was gone and unit was dry.....so i resprayed the radiator and saturated it with foam until the can was empty and just let it sit overnight .... foam went away and unit dried itself.... and its been working ever since

My husband uses this evaporator foam cleaner for his RV, and it works well for regular coil maintenance. As the self professed DIYer around my house, I wanted to improve cooling efficiency for my HVACs. I picked up this 2 pack of evaporator coil cleanser and got to work. It’s easy to spray on, doesn’t have to be rinsed off, and did the job well. Overall very easy to use and I plan to work this into my regular house maintenance schedule in the future!

I have been using Nu-Calgon products for a long time and like the quality they provide. The foaming action works very well for me and the smell is very clean and fresh. Using this cleaner is something everyone should use to keep their A/C evaporator clean and working efficiently. It is an alkaline cleaner that is safe on metal and contain corrosion inhibitor’s. It is also NSF registered so it can be used around food processing equipment.

The reviews by some is correct the foam starts out foaming good but after sparying for a little while it doesn't foam as well or spray. A lot residue tends to run out the nozzle and down the can. But it does have a nice lemon scent.

My coil was actually already pretty clean so keep that in mind when reading my review. What I can say is that, even though they were already pretty clean before I started, they did still look noticeably cleaner and shinier afterwards. I also noticed that I had a lot of black mold or mildew or something on 2 of the raised lips of the plastic drain pan directly under the coil and I sprayed that mold/mildew as well and it did knock a lot of it off. So I'd say that this product works good.
