Even though I’m not a fan of the bitter taste, which you can easily mask by adding to juice or adding lemon to water if you want to take it that way, I find this stuff to really get the job done when it comes to boosting your immunity. I’ve been taking it daily for a little while now and have noticed that it has kept many illnesses at bay. I work in a hospital and have young kids and lord knows I’m continually exposed to germs. This product definitely protects me from all that and has no side effects like the oil of oregano capsules I used to take did. Would definitely recommend as an alternative to oil of oregano!

Grapefruit seed extract/concentrate is great to have for foodies that love street food and/or love to travel, people with weak immune systems, people that tend to get sick often, and just anyone who wants to stay on top of their health. NutriBiotic has become a reputable brand in my book, as their products are very high quality, their packaging is BPA-free and efficient, and their products are effective. GSE has a bitter taste no matter what (as all citrus seeds do), but this one has proven to be the most tolerable for me thus far. Normally, I would prefer a dark glass bottle, however, I like to travel and I am clumsy! Also, as I mentioned, their packaging is BPA-free! The dropper on the bottle lends precision in usage so you get the most out of it. I never take it straight from the dropper - I always dilute about 10 drops to 8-10 ounces of distilled water, or fresh pressed juice, and I add Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) powder for extra good measure! If you mix it with juice, you end up not tasting the bitterness/tartness at all, which is great! I use GSE in combination with zinc, Vitamin C, and [sometimes] iodine, whenever other people are sick around me, or whenever I'm about to eat or drink something my system may not be used to (food or water in a foreign country, for example). I use this stuff at the very notion that I'm getting sick. If there is even a tickle in my throat, I mix it with orange juice or a cup of tea. I rarely get a full cold or flu, which is not something I have time for. I recommend it to everyone, and now my grown adult children steal this from my house whenever they are starting to get sick. I really try to stay away from all the OTC meds, so this helps immensly.

Purchased GSE after beginning symptoms of an upper respiratory tract infection. I have two little ones and they're constantly getting me sick. Seems like every time Mommy is down for 7-10 days then decide I am not getting better so I go to the Dr and pay copay and get whatever Rx's are appropriate. This time in two day Prime shipping I got my GSE for less than nine bucks. I took 15 drops in a large glass of water two to three times a day for seven days. I vowed that if it was still really bad I'd go to the doc anyway.Instead after 5 days of GSE treatment, I felt almost completely healed! I continued taking it two more days (just like they tell you to do with antibiotics) and the cold never returned nor did my sinus infection! I gave it to my 3 yr old son (6 drops in juice) at the first signs of a cold or infection and it went away. I love this stuff! Tastes nasty in the quantity I was taking for illness but if you are taking it preventatively it is barely noticeable as a few drops in a glass. Don't mix it with stevia though and think you'll cut the bitter taste...quite the opposite! Was really worried about a gastrointestinal upset when taking therapeutic doses while sick but I never noticed much. :) Always have digestive issues with antibiotics. This product doesn't create antibiotic resistance either.I use one drop in the water for our butter keeper Norpro Stoneware Butter Keeper keeps the mold and fuzzy spots away and the water clear. I used a few drops in a small amount of water as a mouthwash when I had a really bad tooth ache and the ache went away almost immediately!Now I mix the stuff up in a jar with a few drops of sweet orange essential oil and distilled or boiled water and use it in lieu of Listerine as regular mouthwash! It doesn't burn, kills germs, is safe to swallow (even for kids!!!) and has no dyes or food colors.Love, love, love GSE. Used it a lot so far but it is so concentrated that I have a LOT left! I recommend it to all my friends now. If I only used it the one time it still saved me a $30 copay and at least $10 to $20 in prescriptions so it has more than paid for itself and continues to as I find more uses for it!*update 12/29/12* - I think a few members of our household have a yeast /candida rash. I've been doing all of our laundry (including cloth diaper washes) with GSE because I've heard it kills yeast. So far so good seems nothing spreading and hopefully this is killing anything in the wash. I can't tell though because I can't see it or smell it! I use 30 drops per full wash load (not a high efficiency washer). I either drop it directly into the water or into a plastic cup that I then hold under the water stream as the washer fills. I prefer to do it that way. Again not sure if it helps but it hasn't harmed anything either!!!
