I enjoy shaving with this set more than I know how to tell you. This really works. I was leery of the man made bristles on the brush because I have always used boar bristles, but this changed my mind. I believe I am now almost addicted to this set. I am awed by the shaving soap. I just really like the experience of shaving with this set.

Great products on the low side of cost. The bowl and soaps are a bit smaller than the other brands I have used but they work which is more important. There is plenty of lather and the bristles do not instantly fall out like the cheaper ones. All in all glad I found it and will order replacement soaps when it is time from this company.

I love sandalwood, and I'm constantly on the lookout for great sandalwood-smelling shave soaps. This is not one of them. It's not awful by any means, just not what I expected.Having said that, it lathers better than I thought it would. I got a good shave out of it, and really, that's the point of shaving.As for the rest of the set, the brush works well, but the bowl is too small to lather in. Fortunately, I have other bowls, so no big deal.

I had no idea I would love this shaving soap so much! I was tired of having to buy cans of shaving cream so I bought a few of these sets and I highly recommend them! The soap smells amazing, it's moisturizing and keeps my legs silky smooth. Plus less waste for the garbage! The stainless steel cup and brush are very well designed and high quality. After you use the brush, rinse it and give it a few hard shakes to get the water out then sit it upright to dry, I haven't had any issues with it smelling or getting moldy. Buy it!

Soap is very subjective so take this with a grain of salt. For the price (I paid around 10 bucks) you can't beat this set. I generally don't like a super thick lather, and I don't like it runny either. But to address some comments that this doesn't lather well - that's not my experience. Maybe its a technique difference, but with a bit of soaking for a few minutes and shaking excess water off the brush (which I soak in advance as well), these lather quite a bit. The brush is quite soft for the price. It's not a $100 luxury brush but that's out of my league anyway. The scents are quite mild and not overpowering. I can't comment on the cream because I haven't used it. As for the bowl....yes it's on the small size, but the dimensions are listed so you can estimate its usefulness to you and it fits the soaps well. I'd say it's worth a shot - especially if you are new to DE shaving and need a brush/bowl/soap combo.

I haven't used the razor, I bought this for the other kit, and haven't tried the razor. The brush is my favorite thing about the kit. It works well, and has held up for a few weeks so far, no complaints. The steel bowl is very small, it works with the small soaps included, but I would not be surprised to find other brands not fitting. I've gone to a bigger soap and bigger bowl. The soaps are ok, not great, but ok. As mentioned, they are very small. They still last a good while. The soap produces some lather, but it's not what I would call "rich" or "thick" it's OK, somewhat functional. Since switching to a better soap without any other changes in my setup, I immediately noticed smoother gliding of the blade, less resistance, no/ few nicks. That all seems to come down to better soap. I also noticed this stuff makes my skin very oily later on, like it sucked all the oil out and my skin overproduces to make up for it. Not so with better soap. The kit comes with 2 scents, an orange scented one, and sandalwood. The orange scent I like, the sandalwood doesn't smell quite like sandalwood to me. It's OK, but if you like sandalwood, I would look elsewhere. Overall, what I used of this kit works ok, not great. I can't picture using it for long, you will pretty much upgrade out of all of it, likely before you even use up the soap. The brush is good, but is the kit worth buying for the brush alone? No, there's probably a better or at least equivalent brush you could buy for the price of this kit.
