What is the real diameter of the balls? Page describes them as 9in diameter. Hoping thats a typo.

The circumference is 9 inches. The diameter is 9"/Pi or 2.86"

I want to use these to put pipe cleaners through the little holes. Are the holes the right size for a pipe cleaner to stay in them and not fall out?

The holes in these balls are much bigger than a pipe cleaner so one will go in them with no trouble. You could put a longer pipe cleaner through one hole on one side and then out another hole on the other side and then bend the both ends they wouldn't fall out.
