These are authentic and are made in Japan by Japanese. Excellent!
These taste right and are authentic. These are the traditional type (not spicy hot). They have a soy sauce taste, but it's mild, not strong. Just what I wanted.I have decided to make my own Chex Mix, but I do not like a lot of mini-pretzel sticks, although a few of them are good, as are bite-size Shredded Wheat cereal and crispy garlic rye slices.I plan to get Chex cereal and then use it with a blend of butter, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, cheese powder, garlic powder, and whatever else appears to be good--not all flavored and spiced the same way, so there is variety. The official Cheddar Chex Mix product is excellent, so I think I can duplicate it with cheese powder by dusting some of the Chex cereal.I am ordering Japanese snacks to use instead of a lot of mini-pretzel sticks.I need to order more Japanese snacks that look like these but are hot and spicy. The contrast will be good.I found some on Amazon that have three flavors (Soy [like these], Wasabi, and Ume-shiso [ume plum & perilla]) and ordered them.Wasabi will be hot, but I need to find some that are hot and spicy (cayenne pepper).I have no conscious idea why I am doing this, but perhaps it's a matter of revisiting the 1950s and 1960s when homemade Chex Mix was popular?Japanese are obsessed with quality, so I like Japanese snacks made in Japan by Japanese.Sometimes I am hungry but do not want to eat a heavy meal, so I enjoy some Chex Mix and ice-cold Cherry Kool-Aid made with Imperial Pure Cane Sugar.FACT: A cup or two of Chex Mix costs a lot less than a ribeye steak or a 15 lbs. roast turkey, so I am saving money while enjoying a sensible snack, which makes sense. It's crunchy, so you feel like you are enjoying a lot of food when actually it's just a cup or two of Chex cereal, Japanese rice snacks, garlic rye crisps, Shredded Wheat, and various flavoring and spices.
