The Godfather of Walking Shoes
I’m still wearing a black pair of Addiction Walkers that I bought in 2015. I’ll submit the pics. I just purchased a white pair 10 years later. There are differences in design and function, yet the new pair is the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever had in all my life. That being said the old pair was ALL LEATHER. The new pair is not, yet, the shoe is lighter and the leather is softer and more comfortable. The Addiction Walker is maybe the highest quality, most durable shoe on the market. I’m basing my opinion on the 10 year old pair I still wear. Like I said the old style was all leather this new shoe has a synthetic piece mid foot sewed into the leather. This new shoe is much more comfortable out of the box. Softer leather, lighter sole, easier to walk in. The old shoe was hot on long walks and it was very heavy. If you walk long in the sun definitely get white. The newer shoe is lighter and a pleasure to walk in. I had to go up a half size in the new shoe. The toe box is not as wide and the mid-foot sole has been narrowed to my disappointment. You will see on the pics. This shoe is the only shoe on the market made for extremely flat 4EE or XW or XXW feet. I’m wide in the mid foot and the old Addiction didn’t narrow mid-foot and it was the only shoe made that did not. Brooks should change back to the wide mid foot. It offers enhanced stability and prevents entirely vertically feet from hanging over the inner sole. That being said this shoe is the pinnacle of stability. Even this new shoe that has a smaller toe bed and more narrow mid foot is able to plant my 225 lb 4E foot securely. I did have to go to my most aggressive orthotic to make up for the new more narrow mid foot sole. The new shoe in white is an eye pleasing masterpiece. I’m 52 and the kids wearing $200 Jordan’s are staring at them. Total upgrade in looks even with the non leather section. The old shoe’s major fault was that it was dangerous on wet flooring or snow. The new shoe has an updated sole that’s lighter, more flexible, but probably won’t last 10 years. The new shoe has a roll battle shape to it makes walking effortless. The 10 year olds were old school but great. Not suitable for most people who would say they were hot and stiff…partly true. I’ll be able to walk 10 miles in the new style. I bought two pair of SAS (San Antonio Shoe Maker) Journey II White leather shoes at $235 a pair and to my surprise the Addiction Walkers beat them in style, comfort, I’m sure durability, and support. Originally I thought these shoes were the best shoes for wide feet but honestly I truly believe they’re the best walker, general wear, training shoe there is. Look at my pictures as proof. The black pair is 10 years old. Years ago the tip of the sole became separated and I glued it back on. That was my only issue. I do take good care of my shoes by the way. I would use Coach leather moisturizer to clean them every few months (maybe that’s why lol.)

Excellent walking shoe
A bit on the heavier side of shoes especially if you are used to running shoes. That said, as a 5+ mile a day walker who was starting to develop plantar fasciitis these shoes have brought much welcomed relief. They take a while to break in, but they are a comfortable and steady shoe especially if you have a wide foot such as myself. Price is inline with other solid options and I've been so pleased with these, I will be purchasing a second pair to have both colors available for work during the week.

Great Stable Shoe for Walking With One Limitaon
This is my fourth pair of Addiction Walker shoes and they are my go to brand for walking with stability and no fear of falling. Well made and stable on all forms of surface including on steep descents and wet surfaces. The sole inserts however last for only about 300 miles of walking however and would be great to be able to purchase the inserts since what is available on=line. Also the latest pair when lacing up the first time the shoe lace broke. I will be contacting Amazon about this since this is the first time it has happened with one of their shoes. Overall a fantastic shoe for walking and comfort with the caveat of life of inner sole.

Take a walk on the not so wild side
I am a senior who recently had some falls, and not while running. Actually fractured a couple of ribs taking an unplanned trip to the floor from a few steps up. I had been wearing Brooks Adrenaline GTS runners because of the added stability. However, like most running shoes they have a decent stack height which is not ideal for me now. So I set out to find the most stable sneaks available to wear casually and after looking at bunch of them I discovered these Addiction Walker2 Brooks sneaks. I gave it a shot and I will say, they lived up to their billing. This is a solid shoe with excellent side to side stability. Much better than I anticipated. I feel connected to the ground with every step. It’s really quite remarkable. They are not over cushioned which helps, I think. It’s just the right amount. You don’t feel like you are perched up high on foam soles. Honestly, for what I was looking for, these exceeded my expectations on every level. It would be nice if they offered a few different colorways other than black and white, but that’s really a first world problem ;-) I don’t want to give the impression that these are only for people with stability issues. They are a great walking shoe as well. It’s a win.

Not as Supportive as the Original Walker - but Okay
I was a huge fan of the original Brooks Walker. For me, it was an amazing shoe that was fit me comfortably and dramatically reduced my foot, knee, hip, and back pain. The style was casual, but it came in both black and brown so I could always make it work at work. I mention this because my love for the original probably is part of the reason I don't like this shoe, the Walker 2, nearly as well. The additional firmness of the sole makes it more vulnerable to weird wear patterns. If you're getting it because you want a casual orthotic-type shoe, chances are good you will have a weird wear-pattern. I definitely do, and the soles on these break and crumble much too easily. The inner structure is still pretty good, nice and supportive without applying too much pressure in the wrong places for my foot. I think the most frustrating part for me is that the body of the shoe seems softer or for other reason less supportive. The Walker 2 just isn't as good at supporting my ankle, nor as snug on the top of my foot. Consequently, I'm not nearly as pain free as I was with the original Walker. That said, I'm still buying these shoes. For an off-the-shelf shoe that's casual and needs to stand up to a lot of walking and standing throughout the day, it's still the best option I've found. It's just not as good as its predecessor, and doesn't entirely deliver what I need from a shoe. Everyone's feet are different, though, and there's nothing WRONG with these shoes, so I wouldn't actively discourage anyone from trying them. Maybe they'll be for someone else what the original Brooks Walker shoes were for me.

A good buy for the money.
I have worn them for several years without any issues. They are comfortable and wear a long time.

Fit
I purchased these shoes based on some of the positive reviews. I work in the food industry where I’m on my feet 12 hours a day. I have always worn the same shoe size and never had a problem with fit. I was excited to get these based on the reviews. However, after a couple weeks my toes felt like they were in a vise. I continued to wear them thinking they will break in but they didn’t. Now I have a new pair of shoes that I cannot wear. I purchased a lot shoes over my lifetime and never experienced anything so uncomfortable. Some reviewers mentioned that they run small, but it shouldn’t be this way. Brooks, you need to do better.

Wear well
After a long time (many months to over a year) of wearing a pair of these, I'll confirm they are comfy too walk in and the tread lasts really well (mostly pavement and gravel). The gaps between the tread are thin, so crossing soft mud or similar is likely to fill then easily and leave a smooth no track finish, but not really meant for that.
