I love this new system! I was on the hunt for a security camera system. After doing some research I decided I didn’t want to use a cloud based service that would cost me a monthly operating fee. I then looked at the big box stores, but I elected to try the ZOSI DVR wired camera system. Best value and cost by far. I installed the system without any problems. One could just hook it up and it automatically starts recording, or you can use many other useful features. My mom probably could have just plugged it in to record without any reading... if you want other features, some degree of technical abilities is needed. Points to know: 1. I created a gmail account just for this and set security on my gmail to low so that the ZOSI dvr was able to use the outgoing mail server without any issues. I could then make settings on the DVR to email me alerts when motion is detected. 2. I didn’t use a PC to program, but rather the included mouse. It’s easy. One can then look at a frame and select where in the frame to look for motion and set the sensitivity. This is useful if a frame has trees blowing and cars going by, but you only want an alert if a gate opens. 3. I downloaded the ZOSI app for my iPhone and I initially couldn’t get it to work. I emailed their tech support and they were fast and helpful. The manual is not well written and the tech support by email required me to think a bit differently. I sent screen shots and they texted back, “Please use zosi smart app on your phone, your DVR's network is okay, And the e-mail issue, the smtp server is smtp.gmail.com please refer to the below link” I was initially thinking... “don’t they see I did use the ZOSI app? But then I thought to look and there is more than one app... and there is one called, “ZOSI smart” I had ZOSI view. So get the right one! And I quickly said to myself... that’s how I set up the email... but I wrote “google” and not “gmail”. It was easy once I corrected my mistakes. Thank you ZOSI support. 4. Lots of options for cameras and DVRs. I have a guest house and a front house. Small city lot, but still further than the 65’ of run for the camera cable. I ended up buying 2 different ZOSI systems. Both are great. The cost is great. The app registers the devices and I can monitor from my iPhone. 5. In trying to solve some email issues before contacting their support, I read some posts on setting up port forwarding on your router. Don’t worry... it wasn’t needed. This isn’t as complicated as I was thinking! So in the end, I was able to install 2 systems with 6 cameras and my property is covered! All for much cheaper than a monthly fee based service.

Great system for the price. 1080p cameras and a 1TB DVR for under $200 is pretty good. I have all 4 cameras recording at max resolution and it stores about 30 days worth of video before it over writes. Easy installation too. I haven’t been able to get the email alerts to work. The user interface for the iPhone app could use some work. It will freeze sometimes or lock up my 6S phone. Not too often though. I also have the DVR connected to a HD monitor. The user interface is pretty good, it just takes some time to learn how to use all the features. The cameras work well and the night vision is good. If you are covering a large area I would recommend an additional IR flood light for at night. Update..... After about 1 year I had an issue where the DVR would not boot up. I contacted a person named Slina at ZOSI tech support via email and I received a response within a few hours. I was asked to try several things which didn't fix it. I was then asked to send the broken unit back and I received a warranty replacement in about 4 days. I was very impressed with the quick response, level of customer support and the ease of getting a replacement under warranty. My system is now working again and I am a happy customer!

Lasted 6 years… hard drive failed. Not a bad deal at all. Cameras all still good, swapping hard drive and back up…

Night vision is awesome love that I can block off certain areas so the alarm doesn't go off (windy day on bushes sets off alarm, I can block that area) I had a little trouble with time on my phone app, tech support a little hard to reach due to time difference (japan, good English when in chat to fix issue) walked me through it now phone doing what it needs to with the app. May have sold a few units in my neighborhood. Mostly easy install, plastic base to metal camera, plastic base gave me some issues, might be user error though. I did re-superglue the little rubber things that fell out of the base, seems to be holding well.

This seems like a less expensive alternative to a good idea. The cameras themselves look good, install fairly easily, and the picture quality is decent. Unfortunately, the video recorder freezes several times a week and has to be rebooted. The software seems a bit outdated and the motion detection goes off so frequently it’s useless. *update: 7/17/22 I was contacted by the seller and told to upgrade the system via flash drive. Since doing so the video freezes almost every day and had to be manually rebooted. Lowered rating *update: 3/1/25 Since new firmware update the system has started working with WiFi adapter again.

This product Zosi is great. Purchased this product in 2017 and still working until now in 2021. I lost remote signal in my Iphone with no images showing on the screen. I emailed Zosi technical department regarding the issue and a person by the name of Slina helped me out to fix the problem. Slina was helpful and very knowledgeable in what she does. I sent her the information she needed and pictures of the system network configurations from the main menu. We had email communications regarding the issue and she was able to fix the problem. Images are now showing remotely on my Iphone. Good job Slina.
