GREAT HOLSTER
This holster is NICE. The instructions are easy to follow and the lockup is solid for my Gen1 (US), Canik TP9SA. NO rattle, no "jumps" inside the holster.Bolts up to my drop-leg adapter without a problem (with the removable disc interface)...which leads me to my ONLY complaint:Now this handgun is dedicated to this holster (non-light-bearing). The adapter you install on the pic rail prevents it from entering any other holster I have...so I'll have to mold a new one from Kydex that allows for the adapter.Outside of that, this is awesome.

Saves the trouble of having numerous holsters
The Blackhawk Omnivore holster is made to hold a variety of handguns without the need to have a separate holster for each. Like other Blackhawk holsters, you can either use the belt loop back or the paddle back. You can switch between them as you desire. The Serpa holsters ended up being a problem because the release button is on the side and there was a risk of snatching the trigger on the draw. This issue is solved on the Omnivore with a release button on the top. Like other holsters, push down on the release button and then draw your weapon. Other than that, the Omnivore is solidly made, like other Blackhawk holsters. What sets the Omnivore aside is the included rail mounts (it comes with two). These mount to the picattiny rail in front of the trigger guard. They're easy to put on, just link the two pieces and secure the two screws and it's done. Here's the important thing: this holster WILL NOT work unless you have the rail mount. This means that firearms without a picattiny mount for a light or laser will not be compatible with this holster. They also will not work if the rail is on top of the slide as opposed to in front of the trigger guard. This means revolvers and certain 1911's are out. I also would not expect slim-line firearms to work with this either. To test the holster, I used a training blue gun (hunk of plastic molded in the form of a Glock 19) and a SIRT training pistol that is in the form of a Glock 17 (the red and black one pictured, it does not fire bullets). I decided not to use live firearms for this review for safety purposes. In both cases, the gun locks into the holster and the trigger is sealed (see pictures). When I first tried the holster, I felt that the release button was too low. Fortunately, it comes with accessories to raise it. I used the tallest one. My draw was much better after that.Because this holster is made for many different guns, you'll need to get used to how your gun slides into it and secures (you'll hear a click). On both Glocks (for those that don't know, the 17 is a full frame, the 19 is compact, I did not try a sub-compact because there is no rail), there is a gap above the slide when holstered. After a little bit of finesse, I was able to reholster without a problem. Also, remember that you don't win a gunfight by being the fastest to holster. If you are shooting competition, where holstering is part of the timing, then I would recommend having a holster specifically for the firearm you are competing with. Also, this is NOT good for concealed carry, the holster sticks out too far. So it's pretty much only good for situations where you open carry (law enforcement, security, training, state laws allow open carry, etc). Overall, this holster is great and solves the problem of having multiple holsters for multiple firearms.

Good Holster
If you've been in the military or law enforcement, or just touched the tactical world a little bit, you know the brand name BLACKHAWK. They are good, high quality pieces of gear for virtually any mission you throw at them. With this holster, I was looking for something that would be fairly easy, with no frills, should I have to draw a sidearm. Set up was pretty easy, and swapping the thumb button for release was also pretty straightforward too.If I had to say there was a downside to it, it's that this holster didn't feel very useful for ANY form of concealment. This wasn't a huge issue, as at the time I lived in an open-carry state. However, should concealment had been the goal, this is not a holster to recommend for that. The holster is STILL good holster, but not something you want if you're trying to do concealed carry. For that, it loses a star from me.

This holster works great!
The holster requires that your semi has a picatinny rail under the barrel (most do). If so, the lock out works great. Using the very adjustable thumb release, coupled with the many custom cants, I can draw, fire, and holster in seconds because those seconds count. It is well worth it if you require a duty holster that can accommodate more than one gun (or not). It comes with an extra picatinny attachment for an additional firearm along with assorted thumb release pads to customize for your thumb length. Well worth it, especially for armed security who do not require level 3 retention (this is a very good level 2 holster). My PPQ M2 has only a 4" barrel so the position of the rail attachment is limited but you can see I do have choices. The screws were very firm attaching each half of the two pieces (nothing goes into the rail) indicating a nice tight fit. These screws won't back out. For those complaining about the attachment not fitting or positioning correctly, please note that if applied correctly, the attachment fits very well and is fully adjustable based upon the length of your rail. Regarding the ultimate fit, my PPQ fits in the holster with a solid click. There is zero wobbling or movement once in the holster. The extra thumb release pads, along with the many mounting possibilities makes this a really great universal holster. The only drawback is the extra length of the holster. It needs to accommodate different length barrels so it is a bit longer than a custom holster for my 4" PPQ but will also fit a 5" barrel.
