not strong for repairs but excellent for preschooler activity books...
I have had this product for over a year and it has been used for various purposes. At the time of purchase, my main goal was to get something cheap and non-toxic for fixing my children's damaged books. I have two kids at ages of 2 and 4. They love spending time with their picture books but the books get damaged a lot as well. Having this add on item for less than a dollar was a pretty decent deal (I bought it 88 cents and now is 78 cents). Unfortunately for the purpose of fixing books etc. this glue ended up being a total failure. It is not strong enough to stand even light force. After the initial disappointment, it stayed in our stationary bag for months without having a purpose. I was basically thinking that I got what I paid for. However, things changed dramatically when my son started having books that has activities such as cutting pieces and gluing it to appropriate places. This was not a task that required extreme glue power but instead required having a non-toxic glue that my kids can play with for a few hours. For those of you who are not familiar with the subject, conventional glues can be extremely hazardous to kids when they are inhaled for long period of times. The toxicity affects a whole range of systems including central nervous system as well as the cardiovascular system (glue sniffer's heart). This product conforms ASTM D4236 standards which is not a toxicology testing center but an institute that checks for proper labeling of hazardous material which means if a product has an ingredient that is known to develop a chronic health hazard it has to be labeled. This product says non-toxic and this claim is confirmed by the ASTM standards. Another label is the ACMI (AP) label (ACMI is an institute that has been checking children's art and craft materials for toxicity purposes for over 70 years) and this label also confirms the non-toxic claim. Therefore, despite the lack of clearly labeled ingredients, these two logos, kind of, give me a peace of mind while letting my kids to play with this glue. The material is white viscous compound and even a 2 years old can squeeze it out through the whole on the top. The flow rate is ideal (not so fast, not so slow). The material does not get dry in the bottle and clogging due to not using frequently is not a big issue ( I could easily unclog the top by a fork). The washable claim is also true. It does not have a distinctive smell and the gluing power is average (but good enough for craft work purposes.)In conclusion, this is an extremely cheap glue, really non-toxic and washable and offers adequate strength for kid's craft works and on top of all It can be operated by a two years old (of course with supervision). 5 stars...

Washable, safe, and great for school projects.
Basic glue doesn’t seem like one of the items you have to jump on when it is on sale online, however the price seems to go crazy after back to school sales and funny enough my local dollar store is always out of stock. This means my kids had to do more than a few projects this year using up my craft glue which holds great but is not exactly in the price range I want to keep repurchasing either. Elmer’s is a trusted brand that has been around for years. Their basic white glue holds well and dries clear making it ideal for the kid’s school projects. It is non-toxic so it is safe for little ones. Also it is very washable so you don’t have to worry when the kids inevitably get glue all over the table and everything around it (like the dog.) This 4oz bottle will last through multiple projects, and does not dry out in between uses. It is definitely a staple in my household, and worth it to stock up.

Pegamento Escolar Elmer

Just Like The Glue That I Grew Up With
I was happy that Amazon had a 50 cent deal on my favorite brand of school glue that costed me 50 cents for Back To School! I’m fixing to start my 3rd year of teaching at my church next month, and when the glue came, it looks just like the school glue that I grew up with when I went to elementary school in the early-mid 2000’s! With the same style and recipe!
