essie Top Coat Nail Polish, Gel-Setter 3D Pop Tints Top Coat, 03 Royal Lilac

This top coat tries to mimic the properties of gel polish, and does an OK job as a top coat, but not so much the gel part. It's a cute concept with the purple hue that doesn't actually add much of a colored effect. It looks best on lighter shades and virtually disappears on darker hues of purple. It does lay down a nice shiny layer that helps to protect from chipping for about the same length of time as a regular top coat.

These Pop tints are pretty good at adding a change of color to your already set nail polish. I wouldn't say that they "pop," but the results are attractive. This is an interesting product to use when you are tired of using the same old clear top coat. A good way to change things up.

It's a decent topcoat, but the "tint" is barely that. Given how tinted it looks in the bottle, when spread on the nail and dried it barely gives a tint to more than the lightest shades in my nail collection. I played around with tinting some lighter and darker reds, a gray, and a white primer (used for Essie's neon colors). The lightest shades got some hint of tint, but even moderatly pigmented shades powered through any tint. It *is* a nice gel topcoat, but not as nice a gen top coat as Sally Hansen Miracle Gel topcoat.

The Essie Gel-Setter 3d pop tints add a slight tint of color to your nails. The color is very subtle and is a great neutral. The color that we tried was almost a lilac tint. The polish is high quality and goes on nicely.
