A necessary tool to install solar panel ends
These tools help it in installing solar panel connectors. I thought they look cheap and I didn’t think they would hold up well.. I was wrong. They did a great job and made life easier.. They were inexpensive and I consider them a necessary tool when working with solar panels.

These work great for some connectors, but not Amphenols
I do solar install and service work and often have to disconnect MC4/HX4 type connectors. A similar disconnect tool I've been using snapped on me and I bought these as spares. They're plastic, inexpensive, and hopefully they will fail before you break your connector. On using these last week for the first time I immediately realized that they released connectors with less pressure than the old tool, due to different molding, the tabs are a bit larger I suppose. This week I discovered that the tabs are too far apart for Amphenol connectors, like the ones that come off of the leads of the solar panels we install. So the tool works well but only for some types of connectors. For what it's worth, we also frequently use zip ties to release the connectors in a pinch. It's not as quick but works and you shouldn't cause any damage.

Definitely get these for MC-4 connectors, a must have.
Definitely a must-have for your solar tool kit. Disconnecting MC-4 connectors is a pain without using this tool. These are lightweight and easy to use & carry with you.

Tool materials (thin tabs) not very sturdy and break easily
I see why they give you two pair in a package. If you are trying to disconnect solar connectors in a tight spot, and you put any pressure on the "legs" of the tool, they may break off. The central opening and wrench parts should be ok and sturdy enough for assembling plugs. These state they are for MC4 style connectors, but the disconnect tabs are wider than my plug which are supposed to be MC4. I am getting a different brand with narrower tabs.To avoid snapping off the tabs, make sure your plugs are not sealed to your RV's roof with Dicor sealant, so you can more easily handle the connectors and get a better grip.

Save your fingers!
If you have either portable solar panels or a fixed array that uses MC4 connectors, do yourself a favor and invest in a set of these! I got tired or tearing up my fingers and fingernails every time I disconnected a portable panel from my power stations. I figured there must be a better/easier way. Turns out, there was! Worth every penny!

They look just like what I need
They look like just what I need and at a much less expensive price. I’ve seen some that were metal but cost almost $20 and another set on amazon for $14 and you only get 2 of them. But you 4 of them this company for around $7 so I always keep 2 of them inside the pocket on the back of my BLUETTI solar panels
