Great lens, fantastic quality, especially l for the price!!
A really well built, solid feeling metal lens. The smooth but firm aperture and focus rings feel great and are very easy to use. Very sharp prime lens if you nail the manual focus. I won't go into quality details as I am far from an expert, but for the price it is exceptional in my opinion. Looks great on my X-S10. Would recommend if your looking for a small, fast, manual lens.

Great product for the price
Very surprised at the build quality. Takes great pictures. Can’t complain at this price point.

Soft not sharp but super fun
This lense gives a vintage look, very soft image not sharp at all. There is a personality to the image, the material feels weighty and well made especially for the price.

Great lens for the price
Wow, such a great lens for the price, I have paired it with my XT-5 and used it for night street photography, and it produces some excellent result. The F1.4 is outstanding. It’s quite refreshing having a fully manual lens. Obviously the camera can still automate shutter speed and ISO but with these settings set to manual you have full flexibility.

Great centre sharpness but soft edges and poor focus throw
Interesting lens with varied test results. I found F1.4 to be very soft and really poor contrast with a grey/blue look. At f2.8 the colours are much better and sharpness is decent, although corner sharpness very poor and noticeable vignetting still. From F4 to f11 centre sharpness and colour is excellent (better than my Fuji XF 18-55), although corner sharpness is still quite poor and not nearly as good or consistent as the 18-55mm lens at 35mm. Some minor CA visible at the edges but not terrible. At f16 it's not really usable. In terms of function, the focus and de-clicked aperture are nice and smooth however my biggest complaint is the focus ring has very short throw at distances past 5m, making it hard to get it sharp. It's not helped by the end of the focus throw being well past infinity so you can't quickly set a long distance focus. I also found the aperture markings inconsistent and f8 is actually f5.6 based on the amount of light hitting the sensor. Flaring is good/minimal, build quality is nice, it's heavy for it's size but it's quite compact. Fits well on x-mount. Overall great centre sharpness, a bit useless at F1.4 due to poor contrast and edge sharpness. Might be okay for portraits if you really want lots of bokeh at F1.4 and the bokeh does look nice and smooth with no onion rings. It was cheap, an interesting experiment, but it's a shame about the focus throw, focus end stop and corner sharpness which make it less usable for every day use / street photography.

Amazing sharpness...
Because of 'budget restraints', I settled for a trio of 7Artisans lenses to go with my new Fuji X-S10. This one, the 24mm/f1.4 and the 50mm/f1.4. What I believed initially to be a poor man's option, turns out to be an amazing opportunity. Build quality is on par with my way more expensive M43 Voigtlander 17.5mm/f0.95. Sharpness is just out of this world. Not as in very sharp for the price you pay, but very sharp full stop.Lots of people complain about the clickless aperture ring. I don't really see the issue. The ring turns super smooth, as does the focus ring. And when manual focusing I mostly go to f1.4 for focusing before turning to the desired aperture. And this lens being manual without electronic communication, I look on the ring to set it. I cannot imagine anyone having that level of finger memory to click straight to the desired aperture without looking...The lens has some barrel distortion, some colour fringing, but nothing serious enough that it can't be solved in a second in Lightroom.Negatives? Focusing from close to infinity is anticlockwise. I don't believe I have any other lens that does this, not even the two other 7Artisans lenses I have here. And the lenscap? I guess I'll loose it pretty fast. But then again I don't use lenscaps, I use UV filters for protection...

This lens requires manual settings - it is not compatible with Nikon Z6 ii auto function
The lens is a well machined and intricate mechanism. As already stated this Artisan lens must be used on a manual camera setting not auto. This means that there is limited main camera feedback in the viewer or on screen. If auto function is important then a Z 6 ii compatible lens will be required. The lens marries to the camera body well with a satisfying positive lock. The optics seem to me to be first rate, albeit I am new to this quality of digital camera and cannot claim any deep understanding of the technology as yet.
