Nice safety razor
40 years ago, my Dad gave me my first razor, which was a safety razor. Somewhere in my 20's, I switched over to using cartridge razors after a brief and disappointing experiment with electric shavers. I have a tough beard so electrics were more prone to yank hairs out rather than cut them. No bueno. As cartridge razors advanced through the years, they've tried to cram more and more blades closer and closer together which really just make them easier to clog with hair. They're also super expensive to replace the cartridges and I decided to go back to a simple safety razor recently. This one is decent, basic and definitely does the job on coarse hair. The blades are as sharp as the Devil's tongue. There is a learning curve with safety razors and the 30 degree angle. It's best to let the weight of the razor do the work and not press against your face too hard when you shave. Also, be mindful of any moles or bumps on your face as nicking them can and will happen with safety razors. It will take a little practice. I'm not sure if they still make styptic pencils for stopping bleeding but it might not be a bad idea to pick one up, too.

First Safety Razor
First safety razor and by far the best head shave I’ve ever had. Super simple process but take your time. Quality product with a nice weight to it. I highly recommend this product.

Sleekest Razor
It is the best looking razor I’ve seen in my opinion. It works very effectively and I get way less razor burn than before. I will say it’s a heavy price point but has great materials and feels very durable.

1st experience with a straight edge razor
I’ve been a quandary with regard to buying a safety razor over the past several months. I’ve done research and got it down to two. I’ve been using electric razors for most of my life and I am a fan of them, however, I usually can not get a clean shave around my neck. I’ve used Gillette Mac 3 for years, and have even tried disposable razors for women’s legs for that purpose, but I just get tired of having to go over and over and over the same spot to get a close shave so my stubs don’t pillo my shirt collar. My final choice was Bevel safety razor. As soon as I received it, I raced to the bathroom to give it a try. To my delight I was able to shave my neck without a neck or problem on the first try, and it’s a close shave! The only thing that surprise me about a straight edge razor, you simply can’t dive in to the middle of your beard. I guess that’s from using electric razors most of my life. additionally I like to do a final cleaning with a razor after my electric shave and I never use shaving cream. So could I do it with a straight edge razor. Yes!

How to take a good design and make it bad . . . .
Single blade razors have been around for decades and the design has been straight forward and with limited change. This razor takes a good design and makes it bad. For example, the perfectly round and SMOOTH handle is difficult to hold when your hand is wet, as mine typically is when shaving. Adding some striations to make it easier to hold would make sense. And then we have the shaving head itself with basically no markings . . . Thus, it is impossible to tell which side of the razor has been used to an extent where the blade is dull without running it over your face . . . Awful. And then to add that one is only supposed to shave with the grain . . . The resulting shave is so course that remaining stubble is visible and the shave isn’t at all close or smooth. A horrible product.

Very impressed!
Wow! I used to cut myself or get in grown hairs or irritate my skin shaving. I’ve tried every razor under the sun and am happy to say that this razor is the best one out there! Smooth, close shave without the bumps or blood!

Good, But Not Worth the Premium
3 stars — returned; not worth the premium priceThe Bevel has a gorgeous design and an excellent weight for a safety razor handle. They tried to make it easy to let gravity do most of the work (which reduces nicks and burns). For me, it's weak in three important functions. First, the handle is short. Even with small hands, it's challenging to get a secure and comfortable grip.Second, it's difficult to keep clean during a shave. With minimal gel, it should be easy to rinse in warm/hot water. Instead, it kept getting clogged because there is insufficient room at the bottom for debris. I frequently had to loosen the blade. And that brings us to the third issue: it's tricky to loosen the handle. You have to grip the handle and twist the head, which means taking care not to touch the blade. I also worried that the handle would become loose while shaving. It seems very secure, but it's hard to trust "seems" in the long run.None of these are deal-breaking issues on their own, except that they also come with a premium price.
