Carefully researched
All too many chess opening books are sloppily produced, often slim on detail and with limited original analysis. I am pleased to say that this book is not one of them. This is 432 pages of careful analysis, clearly set out, and with good explanations. For example, there is a brilliant, crushing and innovative line suggested against a common variation of the 3. ... Qd6 Scandinavian which was not only new to me, but which eludes some chess engines when I tested it (Stockfish, the strongest engine I have, finds the suggested improvement, and even then only after some time "thinking"). I have encountered this line in over the board practice, so this innovation is genuinely useful. In another example, the slippery move order transpositions in the Picr/Modern are carefully handled and explained. Again, many chess opening books commonly overlook significant transpositions of move order. All in all, congratulations to the author on a genuinely excellent book.

A book for master class players
As someone who's over USCF 2000, I can honestly say that this is a complicated book. It will take some considerable time to really dive through this. With that being said, as you study you should cross check with different databases. When you do, you will notice that much of his novel ideas are in fact, uncharted waters. This is good for the fact that you will have an opportunity to see these new ideas unfold over time. This could also be bad, as over time, these ideas could be considered suboptimal and subject to change. In either case, you will have a deep appreciation for the author's effort in creating a repertoire work. Keep in mind, this IS a repertoire book. Therefore, very complicated literature and it will require a deep and long focus.
