I wanted a more constraining size Dutch oven for baking bread so that the loaves would make better sandwich slices. It has turned out to be a great size for batches if beans and stews in your ur household of two. It says “pre-seasoned” but it came with directions for seasoning by oiling and baking it, so I did. Cleanup has been a breeze, and I get just the loaf I was looking for.

The manufacturer's directions were contradictory as to seasoning. I followed one of the instructions and seasoned this with oil, the results were not great as it left the pan somewhat sticky and coated. I did use it(with parchment paper) to bake one loaf and the results were good and the loaf came out of the pan without issues. Over all I am satisfied with the product, the bread was good. I am looking forward to the stickiness being worn off the pan and will research a better method of seasoning this moving forward. I would probably purchase this again.

Wanted a 4qt cast iron Dutch oven for use as my deep fryer pot. Wanted one that had a flat base for use on my induction cooktop and was as deep as possible to reduce some of the splatter. After buying other imported pots that were poor quality, I decided on this one. It meets all my criteria. Decided that I wanted just this simple seasoned finish as the ones with enamel will chip easily unlike a Lodge pot or other expensive units. Already used it several times and I’m very happy with this choice. Btw, one aspect of the quality is that it came well packed in a very strong cardboard box unlike the others I tried.

I have had enameled cast iron pots in the past, but they do chip eventually, and the white enamel inside the pan discolors too. I decided to erase those problems and just get a purely cast iron. I think it will keep its good looks forever. I’m 77, and I’ve had quite a few kinds of pots and pans. This will be the one I pass down to my granddaughter.

I had other cast iron pots and pans. This get rusty so easy it does not seems safe to cook in it, It gets rusty in just minutes and food tastes weird. Even if you take care and dry it every time, it stills gets rusty really fast.

I drilled several holes in lid and I am using this as a container for burning wood chips in my smoker! This is awesome!! My smoker has never ever put this much smoke out for this long!!! Trust me replace your factory smoke tray with this and you will be blown away!!
