Cannot see inside to see how it is constructed. Sounds fine, by that I mean, I cannot detect any sonic degradation in sound by attaching it and playing my headphones through it. For he price, I suppose one always hopes for some magic something. But in the end, if it does no harm to the signal, then it is doing its job. I only gave it 4 stars because it does seem overpriced. Revised to one star because it quite working right away. Treated it with Deoxit cleaner and it worked for a while, then totally stopped working. No good!!!! Nothing is added, and nothing is removed, which is good! This is exactly what I was after. If you need more room to connect a headphone to your PC but cannot deal with the *absolute* slightest loss in sound quality, and you are willing to pay for that, this is for you. I'm replacing a desktop headphone amp/dac combo with this wire so it seems worth it to me. At MSRP this is a terrible value, even amongst other AQ products. I would live with the 2% loss in sound quality using generic wire before paying sticker. Shop around and try to find one open box for a more reasonable price.
