I am a Dandelion Mass Murderer. My only problem was running out of chemical and only having half what I needed. Gallon jug listed more then I needed BUT I forgot to read closer and see that it was listed for Southern grasses not Northern like where I live, which means double strength. The spray wand is a little awkard using fiber re-inforced hose which is stored by wrapping it too tightly around clamps up front. That leaves it wanting to be a coil even more then what that hard plastic wants to be normally. Draws a little under 6 amps (measured with my Fluke 75 multi-meter) on my John Deere X320 Lawn tractor, I saw no drop in voltage on the charging system when the power is engaged and the engine is running. From the factory the switch and harness hooks to the battery with the alligator clamps you expect to see on a motorcycle battery charger. Simple and effective. I may run it through my fused 12 volt adapter as the load is small enough and the fuse for that circuit is 10 or 15 amps.Set at 20 psi on the guage and running at 5 mph gives nice coverage. This is pretty much full out with the lawn tractor whose top speed is supposed to be 6 mph but it only shows 5 on my gps.If you've never pulled a sparyer before, get up early on a calm, dewy day and let your tracks guide you. Makes it easy. If you Don't get the chance and the winds are down, follow the tracks you've left by following the same pattern each and every time you've mowed the lawn. You know you do.The mount is a tad high for my lawn tractor, the lowest setting has it mostly level, I would have felt better with a little more play on the low side but this is designed to work behind a 4 wheeler and they have a higher attach point. Also, this is listed as a pesticide sprayer on the booklet. The instructions on how not to contaminate yourself are good and should still be followed with herbicide. The herbicide we mostly use here is Amine 24D. If you don't know what Agent Orange is, look it up. Granted it was Amine at a stregth to make this look like weak Tea but really you should limit your exposure to it as much as possible.Great product with listed parts online if you should ever need to replace something.

Functional, Well built,
This is a well built sprayer. It assembled easily but I needed to use youtube to see how as there was no assembly instruction included in my shipment. There was a pinhole leak in the tee connection, but $1.50 spent at Home depot fixed this issue. This should not be a negative as there is no reason to blame the manufacturer. The only thing that prevents me from giving it a 5* rating is the molding on the poly tank. The threads for the lid and the drain plug were poorly extruded. The filler cap is hard to align and no matter how hare I try, I just can't seem to get that satisfacoty alignment that feels good. The drain plug could not be tightened enough to prevent leakage. With fluid in the tank, I tightened it aiming to stup when the leak ended. However, the cap skipped threads never tigtening enough. A few wraps of teflon tape made it usable. I contacted Northern Tool Company and they offered a replacement tank. That's good enough for me, the are willing to fix the issue. It has served me well so far, The ability to adjust the pressure allows significant control in how much product is released per unit of time. The bypass through this pressure regulator keeps my chemicals well mixed. Finally the consistency of the spray pattern is impressive. Testing with water on a piece of cardboard shows bery even distribution. It folds up nicelyt makeing it easy to store. The wand has two storage positions; one for storage and one for easy access. All in all I can easily recomment this unit for anyone needing a tow behind sprayer for the average user.

Huge timesaver
I have 2 acres of land to maintain and had used a hand sprayer with a hose to treat the acre of lawn in front of my house. Because my neighbor never kills his weeds, my back acre became totally covered in dandelions. No way to haul a hose and sprayer that far! Bought this item and it worked flawlessly. The sprayer arrived quickly and my teenage son put it together in about 40 minutes. When we tested it, I had to tighten up a few clamps but that was the only item that needed attention besides greasing the wheel fittings. The tires even came with air in them! I figured out PSI and travel speed based on the chart in the manual and went on to spray the entire two acres in short order. The unit is what I would call a solid medium duty item. The frame is seemingly strong enough for the load (the 31 gallon unit uses the same frame). I use my JD 110 to pull this and the power cord was plenty long to reach the battery. The plastic tank seems thick enough for its intended use. The pump did get warm to the touch, but I sprayed almost non stop the whole time. I tested the sprayer and it worked fine and I did not use it this time, but I can see where it will be handy in the future. When finished I flushed with water and ran some pump lube through the pump. Can't wait to fertilize this year. My only suggestion is to get some better Stainless Steel hose clamps as the ones with the unit are adequate, but one did start to strip when I kept tightening to stop a leak. Overall I am very happy with this item. As far as longevity, I have only used it once and time will tell.

Great customer service from Jacks Small Engine
First, on the unit itself. Assembly was a breeze and the instructions were clear and concise. Assembly took less than an hour and I can't say I put 100% effort and attention to the task as I was assisting with other household projects at the same time. First use of the boom sprayer was just water to check the flow rate and I found where I needed to tighten up a few hose clamps. Other than that, there were no issues at all and I've used it successfully multiple times since.Everything was packaged nicely and easy to unpack. However, the box was not handled well by the carrier and I could tell it had been dropped. There was a broken piece on the sprayer wand which caused the tip to fall off. I contacted the seller and got an immediate reply and an immediate resolution. Thank you to Jacks Small Engine. It's good to know customer service isn't a dying art. 100% would recommend them in the future.
