OrolayWomen's Thickened Down Jacket

This is a fantastic coat, especially for the price. It’s warm and fits as described in other reviews. My only complaint is that the side pockets? Where one would want to put their hands, are TOO SMALL! My hands barely fit and they’re positioned a little high to be natural or comfortable. Would also love if they were fleece lined. I’m considering getting a seamstress to deepen and line the pockets.

I moved cross country from the Bay Area to the Bay State (Massachusetts). I grew up in Hawaii and Northern California and went to college in LA. I hadn’t seen snow except on ski trips. I was totally unprepared for living in a place where I’d have to learn to shovel snow. No one could give me a good recommendation on a proper jacket, so I bought the most popular one on Amazon with the expectation that if I hated it I’d just return it.It is popular for a good reason. You cannot be cold in this. It fluffs up big. It is very cozy and warm. It is incredibly easy to get in and out of cars. It is also basically a purse with its ridiculous amount of giant pockets. While the whole jacket does not shed, occasionally I will find a down feather stuck to my wallet or a mask that I have left in a pocket. It can be pouring rain and I will stay dry.The only downside is upwards of forty degrees Fahrenheit and I will sweat like a pig. It is sometimes too hot in the car. It is always draped on my cart in the grocery store. It just seals in heat. It’s challenging my certain-dri.I absolutely love this jacket (it makes my spouse jealous with how cozy I look) but do yourself a favor and also order a can of fabric sanitizer to spritz it with in between sweaty wears.

I LOVED everything about this jacket except I found the arms to be too tight. I am ordering the size large to see if that will help but I am worried that the large will be too big considering the jacket fit me perfectly everywhere else.

I've seen this coat all over social media and eyed it but never took the plunge, and then I saw that it was on sale and I couldn't resist. I read all the reviews and read the various questions asked and realized that everyone is confused about what size to buy. I was going to go with my typical size 3XL and then I read several reviews that said it was better to go up a size if not two. This got me questioning my decision, and so I decided to go with the 5XL. I wasn't sure if it'd be too big or too tight, and I was hoping that based on the reviews that I read, two sizes up would be about right for my height (5'5").My coat arrived SO QUICKLY and was packaged in this beautiful little bag. My son was so interested to see what was inside the bag. My husband joked and asked if I was trying to be an ODOT worker (ha. ha.) but I love the yellow. It's bright and cheerful and exactly what's needed here in dreadful OHIO.The coat fits me perfectly. The sleeves are exactly my arm length and there's some room for comfort. Basically, I don't look like a stuffed sausage in this coat and that was my goal. Maybe I look like an ODOT worker, but not a stuffed sausage.I love the idea of snapping the hood to the shoulders like someone else suggested and I'll try that because the hood is massive. There are a million pockets so I can wear this and not bring a purse and I'm excited for that.Overall, I give this a perfect rating because it's amazing, light-weight, and soooooo comfy cozy.

Love the coat but the hood is huge...nobody has a head that requires a hood as big as this one. I could put on a helmet and it would fit over the helmet. There's no drawstring so to keep it from falling over my face, it's time to get out the needle and thread...or return it.

I didn't listen to other reviews regarding sizing true to size. With the sizing going up to 5X I assumed the sizing would be small maybe even asian sizing but I was wrong. For perspective, I am 5'6 and 198 lbs. I usually order a size XXL just so things won't be tight and so I can have a bit of room and allow for shrinkage. For this jacket I ordered the 5X. The jacket is pretty large on me. I might have roughly 12 inches of extra fabric if I have the jacket on and if I pull it to one side tight against me. That said, I didn't want to mess with returning it for a smaller size. I can work with the extra if I put my hands in my pockets I pull the extra in at the front. I wanted it a bit big as well in an attempt to avert the possibility of the seams fraying like I saw with other reviews. I figure if the jacket is larger then I won't have stress at the seams and I can layer under the jacket and have plenty of room. Final ruling....I LOVE this jacket even considering its pretty big on me. I gave it a test this morning at 35 degrees I did not feel cold air. I think part of the reason is that when the jacket is zippered up all the way part of the furry hood part wraps around my neck so no air escapes through my neck. Its like a scarf which really helps hold in the heat. I could feel the back of the hood up on the back of my head. The hood rests up fairly high. I didn't put the hood up but if I did I would be even warmer I'm sure. I will definitely purchase another one after this one wears out but I think I will go with a size 3X so that it will be smaller but still give me the extra room I like and help ease pressure on the seams. The sizing is fairly true to sized after all. 5 stars even with the largest size possible!!

I got a medium (am 5'4, 118lb) and I loved how it fit. I would go for a small if you want it to be snug but I really adored the big look. It is so comfy and cozy. I like how the hood looks - when it's zipped it looks a bit geometric which is weird but unzipped looks like I've got a cloak hood on.Didn't notice when I saw it online but it's orange on the inside which I usually hate but for some reason I love it actually lol. Finally - the pockets. There are a lot which is so helpful, on the sides there are some small open pockets to just put your hands in, they are covered by those poofy things you see on the image which is SUCH A GREAT DETAIL because your hands are actually insulated in the pockets. Then on top of that is the little zipper ones for putting stuff in safely like a phone fits, or chapstick.My favorite coat so far - hopefully it doesn't wear down and tear since it was pretty expensive. Get it while it's on sale.

I gave it 5 stars due to the high quality of the item and it came beautifully packaged. Unfortunately, I am returning as it is not for me but am writing this review so potential buyers can get some idea of the fit. I found the sizing for this coat confusing. I am 5ft 2in and a small size 10. I ordered the medium based on the reviews but it comes up big on me and a little longer in length than I would like. The small probably would have been a better fit and with room to wear a chunky knit jumper underneath. It's also a weighty item which I find uncomfortable. To help buyers with the sizing I have taken photos of the measurements for the medium.

This jacket arrived SO quickly, I couldn’t believe it. I ordered it on Friday 3 Jan and was told the delivery date would be 3 Feb. Imagine my surprise when it arrived today!After reading the comments on Amazon about the sizing being too small, I ordered a size 3X. It isn’t too small at all. The sizing seems true to size but I had ordered two sizes larger to be on the safe side.The jacket in navy is absolutely GORGEOUS. The shiny orange lining and white “teddy bear”-like hood lining is FABULOUS.The jacket I received was well-made and I just fell in love with it even more. I didn’t even want to take it off!Sadly, I have to return it but I am hoping to have it replaced with an XL for a smarter look. As it is so cosy, I won’t want to wear thick jumpers underneath (or I’ll swelter) so a jacket closer in fit would be ideal.I will provide a further update once the Seller gets back to me and I receive my ideal size.UPDATE: My replacement jacket (down one size) arrived this morning and is AMAZING from the fit, colour, aesthetics to the warmth. The Seller made sure I didn’t have to wait too long and the replacement arrived on 15 Jan. Super fast!Definitely invest - it’s worth it. Looks great even on plus size women and is very well made. I’ll update again if all is not what it seems after I’ve worn it this winter.

I love this coat, I wasn’t actually expecting to like it. I have worn a famous brand winter coat for years and have recently returned a premium coat for its quality compared to price. I am over the moon with this purchase. I was looking for a warm down filled coat but wanted something a little different to a regular puffa coat. This coat is so well made, so cozy and has a brilliant hood. I would recommend this coat to anyone. I found the size chart on the US amazon site. I am 5’7” and bought a Medium. I can comfortably wear a jumper under.

Let me begin by saying that this coat is WARM! Feels like you are wrapping yourself with a super cozy blanket. I used the size chart and a quick email to Orolay to determine my size and decided to go with the LARGE. I could have easily gotten into the Medium size but I like to wear thicker sweaters and I don’t want tension in the seams. Going with the Large size means my coat has a more relaxed fit but I don’t mind that much. What I love the most about this coat is that it keeps me warmer than my regular goose down parka.Update: I’m taking off one star after my initial review. It’s been about 3 weeks since I got my coat and now I’m disappointed. First, the fit is odd. The shoulders and arms are kind of snug but the rest of the coat is too roomy even after wearing thicker sweaters. Also, I wanted to test my coat during a snowfall and noticed that some visible areas got these bizarre water stains (which look more like grease stains) from the snow that won’t come out no matter I do. I’m confused with the material of the coat which claims to be water resistant. It’s still a nice and unique design, though.

I had read about the coat on various NYC websites. How it was the uniform for the Manhattan and Brooklyn school run. Comfortable and stylish, but cheap. And then my sister, a mom on the UWS, bought one. I trust her opinion, so when she told me she loved it, I bought one for myself. (But in a different color than her, obvi.)I love mine. It's like wearing a sleeping bag, it's so cozy and so warm. It keeps me warm on English country walks or when I'm in London for meetings. The pockets! So many pockets for all my stuff. The hood is massive. When it's up, I don't get any rain in my face. When it's down, it craddles my neck like a soft cushion.My only complaints: 1) it is a little narrow on my hips, but the size zips mean that I can adjust it. 2) it's more expensive in the UK. I know that this only costs $100-120 in the US, but I spent 145 quid. If I had been traveling to the US anytime soon, I would have bought it from US amazon and had it shipped to my sister.Women of Great Britain, listen to us (former) New Yorkers. Buy The Coat.
