REESE Towpower 8506911 Trailer Brake Controller OEM Style Brake Wiring Harness for Vehicle & Brake Control Ends, Compatible with REESE and Tekonsha Brake Controllers

Well worth the 8 bucks. My 08 Chevy Express 3500 was pre-wired under the dash. If your vehicle came with tow package, the wires to connect 8506911 Adapter Harness are located in the emergency brake and firewall region. They will be bundled up. Red/with white stripe. dark blue, light blue(smaller gauge)black. There will be a factory tag as to each wire's function. You must connect Red/white stripe to the fuse box in the engine bay. Preferably to one the terminals that visible(exposed) left side of fusebox under the small terminal cover on the left side of fusebox. I opted to tap into red/white stripe about 2 feet where it exited into the engine bay from the firewall. As I could not find the factory ring terminal that was supposed to be provided/w trailer pkg. Also you may have to remove some of the loom protector to expose the Red/white power wire. You may have to remove the airbox to gain better access to Loom and engine bay fusebox. It's pretty tight in there. Adapter Harness 8506911 was mated to a Reese Brakeman IV Controller. It will mate to some Tekonsha, and Drawtite controllers also.

Seems to be good quality. It was needed to connect the brake controller to the vehicle system. The wires are color coded and might work with the color codes in your vehicle. I had to make minor changes on my 1990 Ford F-250. Follow instructions carefully. I found a YouTube video for a 1989 Ford that help immensely.

It plugged right into my brake controller, but you have to figure out the test of the wiring. It is not plug and play. Running the positive and ground wires to the battery was a challenge. It saved me money and works great.
