Just wanted to confirm this will be the white rodgers 1f89-211 thermostat. the product picture & desc shows it but title says 'emerson'? thanks!

As of October 1, 2015, Emerson and White Rodgers are the same. The unit I bought was a replacement for my Daughters home and was identical. It is the 1F89-211 thermostat. I had no issues and it has been in service for about two years.

Ok so, I have in front of me a cross reference terminal chart. That has different makes of t-stat. I don't know of a way to get ahold of u only through Amazon, last time i gave my email in a mesg like this they didn't send it. Try sending yours so i can email you a pic of this cross reference chart. It is real easy with this it does color for color wire configuration along with different makes to the t-stat which u are tryn to install.

Does the light stay on all the time?

Vicki, have had this thermostat since 2015. The light DOES remain on but it is not bright like you would find in a lamp. Mine is located in a fairly dark hallway and I can easily read the numbers w/o eye strain. I think you'll be pleased with this purchase if you go for it. Susan

s there any way to buy an attachment or some other device such that I can set a timer for heating controls on my 1f78 non programmable model?

I don't think that is an option. They do sell programmable ones that will do the trick for you though I'm pretty sure.
