Bright, Colorful, Works With Everything
I set this Hue bulb up over Bluetooth in minutes, then later added it to my Hue Hub so it syncs with the rest of the house. Colors are vibrant, whites get bright enough to replace a standard bulb, and voice control through Alexa has been flawless. Great starter or expansion bulb if you’re building a smart lighting system. I've had multiple for years now with no issue.

Reliable, bright and more features coming
Love all my hue bulbs. Can use a little tinkering to get the right color and brightness if you're using smart home integrations but once you're there they're perfect. I have several of these around the house and looking forward to even more features with the hue bridge pro being released

A reliable and energy-efficient Smart Home and Alexa supported bulb
The Philips Hue Smart 75W A19 LED Bulb is a popular choice for those looking to integrate smart lighting into their home. Here’s a comprehensive review based on its features and user experiences:Pros:Smart Home Integration:The Philips Hue Smart Bulb seamlessly integrates with popular smart home systems like Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit. This allows for convenient voice control and automation.Warm White Light:It provides a soft, warm white light that’s ideal for creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The color temperature is typically around 2700K, which is similar to traditional incandescent bulbs.Energy Efficiency:As an LED bulb, it is highly energy-efficient, consuming significantly less power compared to traditional 75W incandescent bulbs. This can lead to lower energy bills and a reduced environmental footprint.Dimmable:The bulb is dimmable, allowing users to adjust the brightness to suit different moods and activities. This flexibility enhances its usability in various settings, from bright task lighting to soft ambient light.Remote Control and Scheduling:Through the Philips Hue app, users can control the bulb remotely, set schedules, and create lighting scenes. This feature is especially useful for automating lighting based on routines or preferences.Quality and Longevity:Philips is known for producing high-quality lighting products, and this smart bulb is no exception. It generally has a long lifespan, often rated for around 25,000 hours, which means less frequent replacements.Cons:Cost:Philips Hue bulbs tend to be more expensive than traditional LED or non-smart bulbs. The initial investment can be higher, although the benefits and features might justify the cost for many users.Hub Requirement:To fully utilize the smart features, a Philips Hue Bridge (hub) is required. This additional hardware is often sold separately, adding to the overall cost. Without the bridge, functionality is limited to Bluetooth control only.Compatibility Issues:While Philips Hue bulbs are compatible with many smart home systems, there can be occasional compatibility issues with certain platforms or devices. It’s worth checking compatibility with your specific setup before purchasing.Bluetooth Range:When using the bulb with Bluetooth, the range may be limited compared to using it with the Hue Bridge. This can affect remote control and automation capabilities if the bulb is far from your phone or the Bluetooth source.Color Limitation:The bulb only offers warm white light, not color-changing capabilities. If you're looking for a bulb that can provide a range of colors or more dynamic lighting effects, you might need to explore other models in the Philips Hue range.Summary:The Philips Hue Smart 75W A19 LED Bulb is a solid choice for those looking to enhance their smart home lighting setup with a reliable and energy-efficient bulb. Its warm white light, smart home integration, and dimmable features make it versatile and user-friendly. However, the higher cost, requirement for a hub, and limited color options might be considerations depending on your specific needs and setup. Overall, it’s a well-regarded option in the smart lighting market, especially if you value integration with smart home systems and customizable lighting control.

Control Lights Using Amazon's Alexa!
Ok, so I don't like having to get up to turn lights off and on or to have them stay on once I leave the room. It's nice to have lights that have motion sensors to control how long the lights stay on, but it's nicer when you can say "Alexa turn the lights off in the bedroom in X minutes and it gets done every time. Or say Alexa turns on my bedroom lights at X am or pm. This is really good when you are leaving and know that you will be coming home after dark, but with Alexa and these bulbs throughout the house you don't have to worry about walking into a dark home.. Not only that you can set the lights to less than 100% illumination for a more relaxing atmosphere. For me it is convenient when moving from room to room and not sure if I am going back soon and it helps with the controlling of usage of utilities as well. One more nice thing is that you can have your bedroom lights to turn on prior to your alarm going off to wake you a little slower than just hearing a loud noise disturbing your sleep (LOL). Overall I have used these in the living room, bed room, basement as well kitchen. It's nice when you go into the kitchen to get a snack or water or some other LIQUID REFRESHMENT (LOL) in the middle of the night and be able to say, "Alexa turn kitchen light off in twenty minutes". Giving you time to get to where you're going using the light from the kitchen shining down the hall so as to avoid the banging of one's toe on something or stepping on a child's toy should here be one on the floor. Overall, it can be a little expensive starting out depending how many bulbs you have to replace. Oh, one more thing, for some reason the bulbs I was using before seemed not to last long these LED type bulbs. Much to my surprise they seem to be a better buy for me because of how long they are lasting. I have had other LED type bulbs prior to ordering from Amazon so overall I have had these types in use for more than five years. Not counting the ones I am using to complete the whole house being converted over tso that every light can be controlled by Alexa. I think the last to be converted will be the outside lights since I believe they can be set up to be turned on at sunset and off at dawn.

Philips Remains Undefeated
As usual, Philips has the best quality lighting. Perfect reproduction of color, can be both internet connected, and local-only. While still plastic, isn't cheap or easy to break, fits just like any other light bulb. Local-only setups are snappy to react to requests, and I have even had fast, really instantaneous updates with home-assistant. It also dims fine using light dimmers, but compatibility will depend on the dimmer.
