Great value and functionality
Great for older Bimmers. Amazing value for the price. I was able to reprogram a locked MRSZ4 module after it gave me an error 240. My E39 had a DSC error and airbag light. DSC required the steering angle sensor adaptation which is done in LEW module which the tool performed with no issue and the MRS needed a clean BIN file which I was able to upload into the unit and adjust it's programming. No lights on the dash now. Tool is super easy to install if you follow the installation guide which you can find on the CD. I am very happy with it.

Worth having for your older BMW
Works flawlessly for my e46 BMW. I find it a little easier to use this to code some features vs the KDCAN cable

Works great after help
The included instructions took some figuring out to work with Windows 10, but after reading and re-reading I was able to follow the included instructions on the PDF. Those instructions appear to have been written by someone who actually has installed the product before. After that, the product works great. Glad I bought it.

A very good tool that needs some tech savvy to install
I got this scanner and proceeded to install it on an old Windows XP machine. The first thing to be said: the description of the scanner says it will ONLY run in XP, but that is not true. With a little search on the web, you can find drivers to make it run on W10, making it more convenient. I was able to reload it on my W10 machine (do a search for BMW SCANNER 1.4 windows 10 drivers, not that complicated). The hardware is fine, although a bit fragile. You need to make sure you treat it with care. After installation, it is quite powerful and it runs a lot of diagnostics for a lot of BMW's, although not the latest models. It comes with NO USERS' MANUAL, so you need to try it by yourself, but there are some good videos online. All in all, it is much more powerful than most standalone diagnostic tools and for the price, it can't be beat. A good purchase if you do not mind spending some time setting it up.

Works Great just what i needed
I had problems with the convertible module and other minor problems my 325ci had but with this it read everything and i mean EVERYTHING. Granted i had to get windows XP on my MacBook m2 using UTM (virtual machine) but other than that the dvd included everything i needed to get this thing running.

Piece of GARBAGE
Piece of garbage! If you love being very frustrated, then this is perfect for you. You get the device, a USB, a tiny disc, and no instructions. Shouldn't be that hard I thought, put in the disc, run the installer, done. NOPE. The read me file links to a few forums that talk about how difficult and all the problems this device has when installing. I followed the instructions online to a T. Still doesn't work. I installed windows xp on my laptop thinking it must be my OS that's the problem. NOPE, still doesn't work. I double checked to make sure my car is supported, no problems there. Try it again on windows 7. Still no dice. I took the device out to my car, reading somewhere that the device had to be plugged in and the car on. Still nothing. Tried it again on windows XP, not even close. In the end I say screw it! I don't know how the few people magically got it to run. But I'm a computer IT support tech, and hours later I still can't get it to work. I'll take another crack at it tomorrow but this might be a return and call the company that sells it to let them know what I really think!

Mixed experience but deserves 5-Dtar
I had one bad experience after another with this product. I contact QiNaiSi through Amazon and I immediately received a response. They helped me through every trouble I have had. Extremely customer friendly! That's why I chose to continue with this product. I was glad everything had worked out. Dropped this product off and then chirped out, Today was like one of those fly dreams. Didn't even see another car flashin' those high beams. No helicopter lookin' for a Taco. Two in the mornin', got the Fatburger. Even saw the lights of the Goodyear Blimp And it read, "QiNaiSi has the Drip!" (Yeah)

E46 M3 & Windows 10 Compatible (with a little effort)
Worked perfectly. Used on a 2003 BMW M3 to program LCM. To have it properly read all vehicle modules you must solder ports 1&2 and 7&8 (clearly labeled on the inside of the adaptor). I am terrible at soldering, but was able to do it and the unit read all modules easily.Operating system: Windows 10 (with a little effort). This video shows everything you need to do to get windows 10 to work with the drivers for the device: https://youtu.be/bZLhlfDmmogSoftware: I did download drivers separately, but the device already comes with a CD that contains them (I was mainly just following the above tutorial step by step). The BMW Scanner software that comes with this (otherwise known as PA Soft 1.4) works flawlessly and I was able to both read error codes and program (with the above physical modifications to the device, otherwise it will only read the engine DME. I believe this is only needed on M3s though).Overall, for 20 bucks versus the cost of PA Soft w/ scanner ($650), this unit is WELL worth it if you’re willing to fiddle with it.
