I'm using car-rep top coat. Not concerned with sanded finish on a utility rack.** A: No need to cure the primer, epoxies can be top coated on a wet on wet application basis. There is no need to sand 2K epoxy primer, you can use it as a sealant to create a moisture-proof barrier. If you have any nibs on the surface you can simply use moist scotch brite to remove them. Primer's recoat window is 48 hours. You can also use Car-Rep® 2K epoxy top coats direct to metal without a primer. **Q: Can this be used on carbon fiber?** A: Hi CAR-REP® 2K EPOXY PRIMERS WITH WISE 2K® TECHNOLOGY are suitable on all kind of metals (including galvanized metal, aluminum, copper, brass) as well as carbon fiber substrates and most automotive plastics. I used it on top of body filer to, to build up any imperfections and better blend the edges after sanding This 2K needed a week to cure before it was sandable due to weather conditions.
