Advantage II for Dogs

I have this set up as a subscription because it works so well for my dog. I’ve never had any issues with fleas.

Top noch, after just 1 day my precious baby started to get some sleep instead of itching and biting. Second day itching almost done with.

I've been using this product since the spring and I haven't seen one flea on either of my dogs. I will absolutely buy this brand every year!!🙂🙂

I've used advantage II for years and get it from Amazon at a much better price that from the vets. But it seems to not be doing a good a job that it has in the past. I just got a new box of 6 and will see. I don't know what I will get to replace it if it has stopped working, so will keep my fingers crossed that maybe I just got a weak batch. There is no expiration date on any of the boxes, just a code, and the manufacturer won't give you the date in normal month/year format because they are not required to by law. Also, the box I just received today was opened, and the side fold at the top was ripped (not by me) but of course, the individual tubes are sealed up in mylar so I don't worry they have been tampered with, but that it was unusual. All in all a good product, but I am watching it!

I know there are A-LOT of bad reviews for these but my belief is that people are using the product wrong, possibly issuing wrong doses or ordering the wrong product size. Bayer is a local, well known, trusted company in my area and I can tell you that they do not manufacture products that would kill your animals or harm them. This is a local, USA company. I have had family members that have worked for them their entire lives.Now on to the product. It works very well. We were using Frontline but it did not work. AT ALL. Our dog was getting ticks, our cats and dog had fleas. We used Frontline religiously and it just didn't perform. We ended up with a really bad flea infestation in our home and we needed to take action as multiple flea baths and house treatment were not helping. We finally switched to advantage II. Weary about the reviews we applied it to our animals in the proper dosage, size, and areas. Read, read and re-read the instructions. There are specific ways to apply this for specific animals. There are also specific sizes that you purchase depending on the type and weight of your animal. YOU NEED TO READ! Within two weeks after we treated our house with products known as permethrin and I.G. regulators as well as using Bayer Advantage II we completely got rid of our flea problem. Its now been months since we have had the problem and we haven't found a single flea on our animals. This stuff just hands down works. I would recommend to anybody and I'm going to keep purchasing it because I never want to have fleas in my home again. Its well worth the price.UPDATE: Its now been 5 years since my original review and we still use this. We have not had a single flea issue since my original review. Our animals are safe and healthy. Be aware that there are counterfeits on Amazon. There are articles on the internet of what to check for. If you are concerned, purchase it from your vet or Chewy.

My go to flea treatment

I only get Advantage 2 aa it works the best in my experience. My 3 year old fawn colored female American Pitbull Terrier started whining & itching so I checked her and she had fleas. Within a few days of putting this on my girl all her fleas are gone and haven't came back. It's so easy to use and has durability as it won't wash off. It doesn't smell bad and there are no bad side effects. I highly recommend it and make sure you get it from Amazon because it's so much cheaper. It's almost twice the price at petsmart and petco!

My 2 year old pup had fleas, and after finally taking care of that.. I was told to give Advantage II a try as a preventative for them to never come back. After asking my vet about the product, I was told that Advantage II was a good option for me.. because "Bayer has a strong line of products"Well.. needless to say.. they couldn't have been more wrong. All the 1-star reviews you are reading on this? 100% true. The first months dosage I gave to my dog didn't seem to have any negative effects on him, and the fleas never returned.. but I did notice that my pup remained scratching himself constantly.. of which I just wrote off to maybe lingering effects of having fleas to begin with. I basically figured the more he scratched, the longer the bites would stay.. almost like a human being bit by a mosquito.Turns out.. that may have been a symptom that he was having a negative reaction to the product.. a symptom I missed. When I gave him his 2nd months dosage yesterday morning, I immediately knew something was terribly wrong. My dog is always a certain way, that's really hard to describe in writing, but minutes after the dosage.. he was acting like a crack addict. He was pacing back and forth all over the apartment. Constantly unable to sit down for longer than a few seconds. I thought that maybe he pulled a muscle or something from a day at the park the day before, but after reading review after review on this product.. I quickly realized that what was happening to him is the same thing that happened to so many other dog owners that entrusted their pets well being with this product.Fortunately enough, I saw someone's review saying to rush him over to the bathtub with dish soap and to immediately give him a bath to get this crap off his body. After two hours of it being applied to him.. I did just this .. and after a thorough scrubbing, I believe I got most of it off of his body and within minutes (no exaggeration) he was already acting normal again. The pacing was gone. His energy and desire to play was back. He had an appetite again. It was like Popeye after eating a can of spinach.I am SO happy that I had the intuition to read the 1-star reviews on this product when I knew something was awry because who knows what could have happened had it stayed on him longer than it did. At the same time, I feel so amazingly guilty that I didn't do my extensive research on this garbage before hand.. because there are much safer alternatives that will not endanger your pets well being.This stuff does not belong on the market or anywhere near your dog. I urge you to reconsider something else, even it is more costly than the Bayer topical. Your pets safety is sincerely in danger if you choose otherwise.(By the way.. this is merely a review of the product, not the seller)
