2万5千語収録されていますが、大部分はネイティブでも気にしないような物の一部分の名前だったりします。正直これをよんだからといっても劇的に語彙が増えるといったことはほとんどないとおもいます。ただ、英語での物の名前の世界の全体像を見通しやすくなると思います。 他と比べてコンパクトなのがいいとおもいます。 よくみたらMerriam WebsterもワーズワードもOxfordも本書と著者が一緒です。DKのほうは知りませんがみんな兄弟みたいなものですからサイズや値段などできめとけばいいのではないでしょうか。そこまでシリアスなものじゃありませんし。

A pesar de ser de 2ª mano, estaba en perfectas condiciones (parecía nuevo). LLevó en el plazo establecido y se lo recomendaría a todos los estudiantes de inglés, sobre todo técnico.

Tremendous array of very clear graphics of just about everything. Topically arranged and well indexed. The illustrations are dated but still useful. I’ve had a copy for many years and was using it to help disabled elderly people in a nursing home art class when one woman said she wanted her own copy, so I bought what may be the last copy available for her. She loves it. Would love to see an updated edition, but it probably would be too expensive to produce.

Everyone in our family, ages 3-66, loves this book. It starts with the Universe and goes on, inside and out, through humans, other animals, plants, machines, furniture, clothing, vehicles... on and on and on, you name it, or more accurately, they name it: all the parts you can think of and many you can't. If you never knew that the little space with the big dimple between your upper lip and nose was called the "philtrum," you need this reference work in your home. This book is great for things that haven't changed in recent years, so if you're looking for names of parts of the latest gadgets, you won't find them here. But if that's not important to you, you'll probably love the clear illustrations and the breadth of the material covered.
