Valspar 410-65064 SP 16 Oz Clear Anti Rust Lacquer Spray Paint

I bought this instead of spray clear coat to cover a repainted lower valence on the front corner of my car (the previous owner had run into one of those concrete parking blocks and scraped that front lower area as well as leaving a 4" indented area which soon broke through). I filled the hole, sanded the scratches, then applied a special auto primer followed by 3 coats of touch up spray paint to match my vehicle's color. After lightly sanding using 1000 sandpaper to remove any particles that had attached to the area I applied 3 LIGHT coats of this product, letting each coat dry about 10-15 minutes (60 degree temps). Unfortunately my first coat was too thick, causing the dreaded "orange peel" to appear, as well as a run. I waited at least an hour, then sanded with 400 grit sandpaper to knock down the defects, cleaned with lacquer thinner, let that dry, then started the clear lacquer process again. By the time the 3rd light coat was done the repaired area was smooth and glossy and matched the nearby body parts exactly. Very pleased with this product and hoping its longevity will be reasonable.
