Organic Ghee by Tin Star Foods (13.5 oz): USDA-Certified Organic Clarified Butter from 100% Grassfed Cows | Paleo and Whole 30 Approved | Lactose-Free

I have never had this before but now have to give up dairy and my dr. recommended I buy Ghee. I liked that this one was organic but I had no idea if this would taste good or not. I have no comparison. I have used it on veggies, to scramble eggs and on a piece of GF toast. It was delicious and I think if not eaten alone you'd be hard pressed to know it wasn't just butter. Yes, it is clarified butter so it's still butter, but you know what I mean. It tastes GREAT and it's good for me so the only issue is price. But I still give it 5 stars because it tastes GREAT.

Im using it to make bulletproof coffee and it worked really well! It tasted great and my energy levels were good, and my workouts were beter! I used it with the bulletproof coffee made in a french press and MCT oil.

Love that this product is made using organic, grassfed butter, especially at the very reasonable price. It tastes amazing and I love knowing that I can have the creamy goodness of good butter but in a healthier form. Don't get me wrong, it's still a fat and should be used in moderation, but it's a good source of Vitamins A, D, E & K, a good source of both short and medium chain fatty acids that are good for digestion and inflammation among other things, it's generally well tolerated by people that are lactose intolerant, and it has a smoke point of 450 degrees so it's much easier to cook with than regular butter. It doesn't have exactly the same flavor as butter, I tend to think of it as sort of nuttier and richer instead of the sweet creaminess of butter, but I haven't found any situation yet where I strongly prefer butter to ghee. And that's saying something because I LOVE butter! :) Only giving four stars because while this brand does have a very nice flavor, the texture is a little strange. I keep it in the cupboard instead of the refrigerator (which is safe according to the jar and a whole lot of research) and while my house is admittedly a little bit cold, this ghee hardens a lot more than the other brand that I have right next to it in the cupboard. It also tends to get a little bit grainy. That's not a problem for cooking because the graininess just melts away, and it's even still ok for spreading on toast because it eventually melts there too, but it does make it a little bit harder to spread and because the other brand isn't having the same problem (and none of the ghee I've used in the past has either), I'm not 100% satisfied with this product. The jar is also absurdly hard to open which I think has to do with the circumference of the lid since my small hands just don't want to fit around it. No matter how carefully I close it so that I don't twist it too tightly closed it somehow seems to glue itself on by the time I want to use it again. That doesn't seem like a big problem but it does get a little annoying having to run it over to my boyfriend to open for me. If he's not home I go through the process of wrapping it in a towel or trying to hold it with my legs while I twist the lid and grunt and curse.....I'm sure it would be quite comical to watch but it's inconvenient! Haha. I'll probably continue to buy it because I trust the company and know they produce a well tested and nutrient rich product, but if something else comes along that seems better I'd consider making a switch.

This ghee is the best ghee I've ever tasted. My kitchen won't be without it! I love the flavor of it, love that the butter is of excellent quality, and love that it's made with love by a wonderful small business with top-notch customer service.

It's good-tasting, and good quality. I live in Texas, and when it was delivered it was melted. It's never returned to a solid state, which is a bummer because I look forward to spreading it like butter. It's also the reason for getting 3 stars. I like that it's pastured and grass-fed, so I'll prob buy again, but I'll wait till it cools off here so it doesn't lose its consistency.

This is the worst experience (only) i have ever had opening a jar. This thing was sealed as if it was going to be flown into space, you need an adjustable wrench to open the darn thing. I spent almost three hours trying to remove the lid, tried everything and still wouldn't open. But SOMEHOW butter was dripping from the side of the jar making it slippery and even more impossible to open. Poor container design. This is not suppose to be an issue!I would rate for taste but seeing how i cant even open the darn thing, i cant.

Here's a review from someone who actually bought it from Amazon. As far as shipping goes It was very well packed and arrived the next day. The flavor is OK...it tastes like clarified butter but it's 60 degrees F where we are and the consistency is very loose and watery while the texture is quite gritty. Not impressed, especially at the price. I also notice the label has changed. It no longer states, cultured cream and the ingredients list lists Milk. Huh?

Super high quality ghee ...I've tried many brands. Using it every day and loving the flavor, consistency and way it combines in recipes! Never rancid tasting- very sweet
