A clear explanation of Evola's political philosophy
Julius Evola is a challenging author, in part because he often self-references, assuming you've read his previous essays. If you don't know what an "organic state" is, what Evola means by "personality" and the confusing polemic he sets up between it and individualism + how it relates to "supra-individual individualism" as it were, this work contains essays that explain it in an easily understood way. This collection of works also contains a lot of discussion on political theory from a traditionalist perspective, which is refreshing and erudite. There are a lot of competing takes on liberalism, but Evola's is by far the most original (or least original, considering there's technically nothing original at all from the traditionalist perspective.) He expands his critique in The Bow and the Club as well as Recognitions, which are excellent as well.Unfortunately, Metaphysics of Power, by virtue of its being a collection of essays pieced together from periodicals and other sources, is rather repetitive, especially in its discussion of wartime politics. When writing for a periodical it's natural for an author to restate some things, especially in a "philosophical diorama," in case a reader missed an issue. Still, there's a lot of value here, even where it repeats itself.
