excellent
If, like me, you were little in 1976, driving around with mom and food shopping in one of those gas eating Ford Country Squires--you know, those fake wood sides-you got to hear A LOT of soul. Fords only came with AM radios in those days, which is why you knew a lot more top 40 songs and did not really get to what was then FM music until you actually grew up enough to seek it out.The problem is that a lot of these great soul hits go back and back and back into subconsious closets. Entangled in sounds of Led Zeppelin and King Crimson--and with a hard case like me, Hawkwind and Albert Ayler and a sea of other brain damaging material--you sit stumped in 2010 trying to think of WHO did that soul song way back then--now that you want to rediscover this music. You sit and sit and hurt your brain--did you ever even know?Well, in very roundabout fashion, I got some of my answers. After recently seeing Billy Friedkin's The French Connection , I found out that when Doyle and Grasso walked into the club and that girl group was singing Jimmy Webb's "Everybody Is Going To The Moon," that girl group was a very young Three Degree. We all know how as 1971 turned to '73 and '77, soul got glossier and a little more pop oritented. So I was suprised to find a lot of the song on here, "When Will I See You Again" rings to mind, were in fact, the Three Degrees. This album was not the 60s-70s soul romp I was expecting, but what I got instead was just as great: with great Philly production and who I think is MFSB backing the Degrees up, this is that shiney and production are excellent, and hearing this music now--which provided a welcome pulse next to Debbie Boone and Olivia Newton John all those years ago on the old AM--reminds me this stuff sounds better now than back in the divided AM/FM 70s and 80s.You just can't deny how good it soundsInncidently, if you dig on "Everyone Is Going To The Moon," check out Thelma Huston's Sunshower , the album Webb produced for her in 1969.

Sexy Girl Group Trio !
If you're old enough to remember the sounds of MFSB Orchestra who also played & backed up Groups & Artists Like ,'Billy Paul', 'The Intruders' , 'Teddy Pendergrass', 'The O'Jays', & 'Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes' and many more, you'll Love The Songs & Sounds Of This Girl Group Trio. Their songs are as sexy as their looks. Songs like 'When Will I See You Again', 'Long Lost Lover', 'Lonelier Are Fools', 'Take Good Care Of Yourself', 'Dirty Ol' Man' and more.

SISTERLY LOVE
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CD!! THE THREE DEGREES WERE THE EPITOME OF STYLE, GRACE AND CLASS. TRUE DAUGHTERS OF ZION WITH BEAUTIFUL VOICES FOR REAL. MY FAVORITE SONGS ON HERE ARE OF COURSE THEIR SMASH "WHEN WILL I SEE YOU AGAIN"(I WAS SURPRISED TO LEARN IN THE LINER NOTES THAT IT ONLY PEAKED AT #4 ON THE BILLBOARD R&B CHARTS. IT DID BETTER ON THE POP CHARTS, IT PEAKED AT #2. HELL, IT SHOULD HAVE PEAKED AT #1 ON BOTH CHARTS AS GREAT AS THIS SONG IS!!), "I DIDN'T KNOW"(THEY SANG THIS TO REDD FOXX AKA FRED SANFORD ON SANFORD AND SON), "T.S.O.P."(THE MUSICIANSHIP ON HERE IS WONDERFUL, AND IT'S ENHANCED BY THE SISTERS' LOVELY VOCALS) AND "DIRTY OL' MAN". THE THREE DEGREES, IN MY HUMBLE OPINION ARE THE TOP TWO SISTER GROUP OF ALL-TIME(FOLLOWED BY THE SUPREMES). THEY JUST HAD "IT". I LOVE THEM. REST IN PEACE SISTER FAYETTE.

When Will I See You Again: The Best Of The Three Degrees
Another excellently compiled collection from Music Club Deluxe. Features 31 tracks recorded between 1973 to 1979, five 12" versions including the 6:07 version of Giving Up, Giving In and a 7:46 long version of The Runner. This version has a '1,2,1,2,3' count in and has a funkier guitar 'live based sound' than the hit version.Excellent sound quality. Slipcase and sleeve notes by DJ Dean Rudland.

Orignal & best.
Terrific, & great value & original. Had forgotten how many of these songs I liked from back in the day (1970's to any youngsters out there!!). I had a CD with the same songs re-recorded, but not with the original line up - not as good as the original versions in my opinion, so delighted to find this. Great to now have them on my Ipod.

3 Degrees of Perfection
This is a stunning cd containing the usual hits, plus, unusually for a greatest hits album, extended versions of several songs - normally, you would get edited versions. Plus, you get the live version of "Everybody Gets To Go To The Moon", which the group performed in the movie, The French Connection, and proves that they sounded as perfectly polished live as they did on their recordings. Sadly, Fayette Pinkney, the only remaining singer from the original line up (Sheila Ferguson and Valerie Holliday were repalcements) passed away on 27 June 2009, but her amazing voice lives on in these recordings.
