Turns out the only person who could beat LT was Lawrence Taylor!
Really enjoyed this book. Probably the greatest ever defensive player in the NFL giving a totally frank account of his rise, fall and recovery.

The most destructive linebacker...on and off the field!
This book is a great book for any football fan! Lawrence Taylor's 100% honesty makes this book 5star! Many sports auto biographies can be very focused on their sporting achievments in hope that their legend can live on and they can reep the benefits of a fabricated image, this book is very different! Although LTs book makes you shake your head in disbelief sometimes, this book will make any football fan laugh outloud numerous times with his stories from the NFL and perspectives of ex-coaches and ex-players! This book defines LTs career as a linebacker but gives an honest and funny-at-times account of his destructive life of cocaine, hookers and slinging muggers out of his car whilst they were robbing him! An excellent story of a great individual!

An enjoyable if lacking book with great insights into life on and off the field
"LT: Over the Edge" does exactly what it says on the tin: it's about life in the NFL and his equally eventful life off the field.Taylor is perhaps one of the greatest Linebackers to ever play the game and you can see how he revolutionised the sport as one of the game's most exciting defensive players. You get a feel for what Taylor was like, the carnage and mayham he caused, the author is very descriptive of times and you can easily track his season's success year after year. The football action is very exciting to read. Now there comes the problem. Off the field, Taylor was unimpressive. Run ins with police, drug abuse, court appearances, various stints in rehab, affairs, family breaking up etc., it's all here and he experienced it. You'll be a little shocked at Taylor's eventful life but his honesty is remarkable in telling the story.Problems with the book is that it's only good. It's a solid read and drags a little near the end. The football action is well authored but it feels like it's lacking some-what, what this is I'm not sure. Also his problems with drugs, the law, and family seem to really tarnish his on-field reputation. Recently Taylor has been involved in more run-ins with the law that has personally left me showing no respect to him. However this is a personal insight and maybe irrelevant. However outside of that, this is a good read and worth picking up. If you're a Giants fan, Taylor fan or a casual NFL follower give it a try.(Reviewer's note: It's been a year since I read this book so forgive any glaring mistakes or faults!)

You have to admire him...
Lawrence Taylor is arguably the greatest linebacker the NFL has ever seen. In this book he writes about his amazing career with the New York Giants and about the incredible things achieved as part of 'The Big Blue Wrecking Crew', including the amazing Giants victory at Super Bowl XXI. However, this book is not just a celebration of a fantastic sporting career but also an account of the ugly side of the man they called 'LT'. Taylor talks candidly about his drug problem, his many stints in rehab and the long road to recovery. Sure, it makes for uncomfortable reading but some laugh out loud moments help to balance things out. You have to admire the way in which Taylor holds nothing back in recounting some of the less glmourous episodes in what's been a pretty turbulent, but ultimately astonishing career.

LT and all that that Implies!!!
If you like football then you will probably love this book. Lawrence Taylor is arguably the best player in the last 20 years or maybe forever. He clearly revolutionized his position. This book is probably 30% football, 70% off the field. And that's as it should be as his world was wild and wooly and makes a great read. The drugs, the women, the parties are all here. Some of the most interesting parts are how he hid his drug habits from the NFL.This isn't a classically written book. But the stories are so compelling it can't help be entertaining. You'll read it with your mouth open in disbelief. And, at least for the time being, it ends with a story of redemption.I strongly recommend this book for football fans and stories of the wild life.

Very interesting.
I’m an Eagles fan but I always look for a good read. LT was one of the best ever. Very well written. Like all of us he made mistakes but learned from them and Now helping others to prevent them from going down the same road.

Fun, At Times Sad Book
Very entertaining and informative book. A page turner. LT’s descent into addiction is sad and he writes in great detail about it. If you want to know about his career and what drug addicts go through, this is for you.
