M-D Building Aluminum Screen Frame Kit, White, 5/16in x 60in x 60in | Cut-To-Size Frame Pieces, Includes Corners Spline Pull Tabs Springs, Aluminum/Vinyl Materials, DIY Screen Repair

I just finished doing 9 windows with these kits and I'm thoroughly satisfied with them. The quality of the frames and plastic corner pieces is better than I expected. I like that the corners are solid on both sides and not hollow on one side like other brands. They fit together easily; even the corners with the metal retainer clips were not very hard to do.My only criticism is that the instructions are not detailed enough about cutting the pieces to length (see photo). For example, if you have a window that's 28 inches wide and 29 inches tall, you'd need to cut two pieces at 26 1/2 inches and 2 pieces at 27 3/8 inches. You need to subtract 1.5 inches from each measurement because each corner piece is 3/4 inch. Plus you need to be about 1/8 inch shorter for the height (but not the width) to account for the retainer clips that will be on the top edge.Watching a few YouTube videos on installing these is a good idea. It's really pretty easy to do and saves a lot of money compared to custom made screens. Don't forget to buy a good quality screen cloth to go with this kit.

I bought two sets of these to replace the screens on my three small basement windows. Bought an extra set of corners from the same vendor. I could get one length and one width from each piece, so I had enough for 4 windows. Screen fit perfectly into frame using a screen roller tool. Trimmed with knife. I cut to length on miter saw, since they are make of aluminum, and de-burred. Also had to buy extra springs for the third window. They supply four frame pieces, the spline, 2 springs, and 4 corners, and 2 handles with each set. I recommend 1/4" (6mm) clearance on the spring side, and 1/8" clearance on the non-spring side. Springs insert into frame just prior to installing the corners. Handles are inserted into spline groove under the screen and spline. They all worked great, no problems. Be sure to measure every window and don't assume they are identical. (ask me how I know!) Screen not included.

Bought these so I can make my own window screen frame for a weird size window. Installation was a breeze with a hacksaw (better than motorized). Has done well so far.The 2 items of annoyance is that stability of the design is a bit questionable. I wish that there was a bracket/bar that could be installed to make it a bit more rigid.The other item of annoyance is that the way I received it, there were already a dent in 2 of the pieces. Not massive dents, but I wish packaging was a bit better to ensure no dents or bending of the material would be caused

Very easy to put together. It is sturdy and it looks really nice. You will need to buy a screen but not the sline (cord that keep the screen in place) as it is provided. Great product. Highly recommended!

Easy to use. My dog had destroyed my old screen barking an anything or anyone outside going by. Found this product . Just measure the old frame and cut to size use the included corner pieces to make frame. Install new screening and you have a brand new window screen. Seems sturdy looks good the fit is up to you and your measurements. Glad I found this.

This is your standard run of the mill screen frame kit. Not much more to say about it. Kind of wish the corner connectors were aluminum. But you can't get everything you wish for.

First, instructions on how to measure would be helpful. Second, if you are creating a long or wide screen, when you create tension on the mesh/screen material it bows the frame in the middle and leaves a gap as its so flimsy. It will fir in the corners, but leave gaps on the sides. No wonder this was cheap and im glad it was so I didnt waste too much money. Time to call the professionals to replace the screen.

Aluminum Finish version 4 star.White painted finish 3 star.Maybe the packing is not meant for Amazon-style shipping, but the instructions are pretty bad if you've never used these kits before. They fail to mention that you need to account for the external corner brackets (Each bracket uses 5/16 in so you need to subtract 10/16 from your measurements). Doesn't tell you the included spline size (1/8") and doesn't provide any hints on installing the spline (I decided to make sure to wrap the spline around each corner and not start/end the spline at a corner). The springs are useable.There were a couple of small dents in the frame (did not structurally damage the frame, but marred the look) from shipping. The worse part is the color matching of the plastic L-brackets to the milled Aluminum finish on the frame. A gray color that is not even close. Just awful.I also got the White variant. The color matching is better (it should be easier), but the packaging... Every piece of the 3 sets I bought (that is 12 pieces) was scratched, marred, had random paper or print transferred onto the painted white pieces. The end cap piece of plastic rubbed off some of the paint. The plastic wrap did not completely prevent scratches or rub marks. Dents, too.I'm horrible with a hacksaw, so I used a multitool (oscillating tool) to cut the aluminum. At least the white paint did not flake off and looks to be well bonded to the metal. Used a file to deburr the end.They work. Are not that expensive. They are sturdy enough to not get bent out of shape when I didn't realize I was trying to force the screen into a space that was 1/8" too small.

It’s just the frame. Doesn’t come with screen. Very easy to work with. Make sure to include the measurements of your corners when you are measuring for length and width. Cuts very easy with hacksaw

Me tomo 2 semanas decidir que poner de mosquiteros en casa, ordene estos y solo tomo 40 minutos de una mujer inexperta en armarlos.Quedaron muy bien. Solo puse un poco de pegamento en las esquinas con el marco y le dio más firmesa y la calidad muy buena a precio accesible.

Works perfectly and fit

Very easy to cut and set up, very pleased with this purchase. Just wish there was an option to get more corner fittings . All my upper windows are smaller and would have liked to be able to buy extra fittings.
