Remington Compact Ceramic Dual Voltage Hot Rollers for Long and Short Hair, Hair Setters, Hair Curlers, 1-1 ¼" Purple/Black, 10 Piece Set

This is my second set of these. The first set I bought for travel in the 80s or 90s. It was still working like new when I moved years ago and never saw them again. The box says they heat quickly (like 90 seconds) which isn’t remotely accurate but they heat ok in 5 minutes. If they get really hit you can’t hold them but I set my iphone alarm and they work as expected. The pins work fine. I tried different rollers years ago and these worked as well or better than the more expensive units. I assume there have been no real issues with this Remington product or it wouldn’t be on the market for decades and…it curls well. It would bee nice to have an auto shutoff however items that have this don’t seem to last as long so modern phone alarms do the job. These were a no brainer for me at the current price. I’m sure I paid quite a bit more for my first set. If you need these for travel they are the best. They are light weight, take up little space in my carryon and they have a soft cover rather than the hard plastic ones that easily break. Some tech just doesn’t need big updates. When this set came in I used it before eating out and received lots of compliments on my hair. It smooths out the hair which is nice in humid climates. I go between Vermont and NYC — crazy humid.

Love Them! They heat fast, don't burn fingers, small and compact and perfect to trave with. I could not wait to use them and just received them. I have a bigger set and it's nice, but just love these. I'm going on a cruise in June 2026 and Japan (mission trip) in November I'm set

Alright - I'm on about my sixth set of these.... the first time, I reviewed them as 5-stars. The last time I reviewed them as 1-star - because they had changed their clips. I loved that these curlers are compact, heat up fast and came with clips that don't leave a kink in fine hair. I hated when they went to a new cheaper version of clips that made you play the "find the clip and curler" game as the clip flew out of your head after less than 2 minutes. I bought my latest set when even though they didn't take up my challenge (see last review) they introduced j-clips that addressed my complaints (as well as many on here). I would actually give these a 10-star rating now. Great set of curlers for travel or everyday - with clips that match the curlers performance! So, I previously gave these curlers a very-high ranking. I've used them for years, and no matter which other ones I try, I always end up going back to these. I just bought another replacement set.... and since these, because of a change in the clips, are no longer the same product, I am adjusting my review accordingly. Here is my challenge to whomever in Remingtion aisre now responsible for these... Gather up some women in your company and go into a meeting room. Bring plenty of these curler sets in for them to use (no need to plug them in or heat them up - that part works fine). Now, have them curl their hair in them, if you can get 5 woman who can keep all these in their hair with the provided fasteners for 5 minutes I'll adjust this review again. Here's the great part, if my experience is a sample,they won't just fall out or not hold -they will FLY out. Pins will jettison themselves across the room and under pieces of furniture, curlers will go rolling across the floor, and as they pick people scramble for pins and curlers, the rest of them will do the same. I call it the "Chase a curler game") I know every trick in the book for keeping these type of fasteners in - and these are just too small for the curlers. Seems like someone made a poor cost-cutting decision or you aren't getting the fasteners you were promised. Either way - good curlers without a way to fasten them aren't worth anything. Hope you pick up the challenge - I'd love to see it on YouTube. ORIGINAL REVIEW I've owned a couple of sets of these. (They tend to look worn out from regular use every couple of years and I replace them - even though they're still working fine). In fact, I bought one set just to keep in my travel bag - and replaced my regular "big home set" with these, as well. They heat up very quickly and leave a long lasting curl (even if you leave them in just a short time). They are particularly great for fine hair, and these have better clips than the last set I bought. (These wire clips don't leave a kink in your curl like the plastic "clip all the way around the curl" type does.) Really, a great value and great product all around!

I purchased these rollers because I wanted a few 1-1/4" rollers and this set was the most economical way to do that. I don't love them but will keep them. What I like about them: --The "feel" of the rollers - sort of "rubbery" - (not flocked or velvet) is nice. I like a firm roller with little spikey nubbs. These are firm but not spikey. The texture does grip my hair when rolling... --They come with pins, which is my preference. All pins fit their designated rollers and hold securely. (Even though the pin tips are colored to differentiate the sizes, there is not enough contrast - so I have to sort them before I start rolling - it's really frustrating to have the roll all set and then to grab the wrong pin.) --They don't get insanely hot when left on ... and they are never so hot that they burn. What is interesting about this is that despite not feeling as hot as my other curlers, they curl just as effectively as the others. (The longest that mine have been on the base is about 45 minutes and they felt like they did when they were about 10 minutes in...) --Their compact size would make them ideal for travel, (but this is mixed too, because there aren't enough in the set to do my whole head...) What I don't like: --There is not an indicator light or a switch, so I have to be really aware of unplugging the unit when I am done. I'm fearful of forgetting to unplug these so I have my curler sets plugged into an extension cord that has it's own toggle, along with a lava lamp. If the lava lamp is on, so are the curler sets... one button turns everything on/off. --I don't care for how the rollers set into the base. They have prongs that have to be lined up correctly and they have to be pressed in so all the contacts touch. Because the case fits to the rollers so well, I have a hard time replacing them when I'm looking to swap out a roller. And that little pressured attachment has some resistance, I have to fumble to get a hot roller out with just one hand - (the other hand is usually holding the hair that's ready to be rolled...) Overall: I would return these if they cost more. But at $14, it would cost me half as much for the return postage. (There is nothing defective about this product, so the return postage would be on me...) That being said, it is nice to have the larger curlers. Even though I don't love them, they do what they're supposed to do. ------------ I initially rated this product at 3 stars ... (not that it matters much) ... but I appreciate that the manufacturer took the time to comment with their contact information. It made me go back and look at my review. It is an honest review about why I don't much care for this set, but the reality is that there is nothing wrong with it - it's just not to my taste. These curlers work as advertised and I can see how they might be perfect for others. I've added a star for unsolicited customer service.

These are great travel hot curlers. However, they do not last long if you use them on a daily basis. I used 2 sets of them everyday for about a year and now one set is barely warm after heating them for 10 minutes. The other set heats a little more but only enough to add a wave to my hair, very little curl. They are supposed to heat up in 90 seconds, but sadly not anymore! I found them a little cheaper at Walmart, $18.96 and because they are such great price and great travel rollers I bought them again.

These rollers are compact and great for traveling. The rollers themselves stay in my hair when I have styling product in my hair. Otherwise slip out. The number of rollers is good for my hair - 10 does the job. The large rollers are a bit smaller than the normal large roller size in a larger kit, due to the compact size. Major con is inconsistent heating. Some rollers are nice and hot. while others are too cool. They also seem to take longer than 90 seconds to heat up. I had high hopes but I will be returning them.

Wow, I am very impressed. Great value and it does what it promises; heats up quick and delivers great results (e.g., full big-bodied curls with no indents from clips, etc.). I love the how compact the set is, and the cute case the rollers stay in while heating up and storing. I was concerned that there weren't enough rollers (10 total), and I was one short. But it was easy (and quick) to unroll the first one I put in after a few minutes, then set the roller back in the case for 90-seconds to reheat and re-use on the last bit of uncurled hair. I just recommended this great set to my sisters. Very pleased.

Purchased two containers of rollers for a good assortment of the larger and smaller rollers. It takes about ten minutes to heat up. Chord is very long, lots of options to reach a plug. I have only used the large curlers so far. My long bangs, past my chin, I rolled backwards and the rest of the rollers I roll normally facing down. I have very fine hair that is medium in length. It curls my hair just fine without overly drying it. I let it sit in my hair for around five to ten minutes. Adding a photo of my results. I wish I had bought these years ago. Really like the soft case making it easier for storage or travel.

This product is very very effective. I purchased a universal travel adapter to use in my country.

Very nice rollers! Perfect set! Comes with clips as well, very compact so it is easy to travel with. Heats up quickly and hot! Really like them! If you have a lot of hair or thick hair it might not be enough rollers if you’re thinking of doing your whole head, because half of set is larger rollers and other half is smaller! Texture of the rollers is a little rubbery so hold in hair well!

It looks great, still haven’t used it. But I hope it works well.
