This product works as advertised. The volume can be cranked up so its easily heard. Your own ringtones can be loaded into it. It can be wall mounted or sit on a surface. I haven't had it long enough to see how long the batteries last.

This is THE perfect doorbell. Our old wired one was super outdated (like, had the huge long chimes) so when it was time for a new one, I knew I wanted something wireless, digital. We are also expecting our first child in just over a month, and so wanted something that could be muted for when baby is napping, otherwise our dogs go NUTS. I also wanted something that would allow me to pick a simple tone so the dogs wouldn't recognize it when it DID ring. This checks all of my boxes, and THEN some. It mutes, and the volume is adjustable so it can play really softly when you want it to. It's portable, so you can take it with you if you're going to be somewhere unusual but you're still expecting someone (outside, downstairs, garage, etc.) That's nice too because if it's on mute, you can have it light up when it rings so you can keep an eye out for the light rather than the sound. Awesome. Takes four huge batteries, but I found out it ALSO runs when plugged into the wall.. perfect! Important to note that the USB chord it comes with is in the battery compartment.. I didn't realize this when it arrived and I called the company thinking it hadn't been included. I love that it can be synched with other units, so you can add more buttons or more receiving units, if needed. Awesome for when we finish our basement. Perhaps my favorite thing is the custom tones you can download to it.. seriously, how cool is THAT? I had a nursery tone when we had our baby shower, and I just downloaded some fun Halloween and Christmas ones. So easy to use and so fun to customize. It's great too because I can choose ones that don't actually sound like a doorbell, so my dogs don't recognize it and start barking. If I ever want a "normal" tone, I can find one and pick that.. doesn't have to be a doorbell sound. I previously purchased one with 52 tones and they were all HORRIBLE. They were all long songs and like 5 simple chimes and didn't like any of them. What a waste of time and money. I returned that and got this one. Don't bother getting any other one! This is perfect.. highly recommended

I don't write reviews often but this deserves one. If you want the best very high quality well designed doorbell forget the numerous cheap electronic doorbells with 52 "songs", they ALL sound VERY cheap and tacky. I'm gonna save you the wasted time of getting one of those and having to return it. This one has very high quality sound with no compromises. Can be very soft to very loud. Has 8 included rings (mostly useful, several different ding-dongs, great Westminster chimes, piano riff, etc, hear 'em at yourhome.honeywell.com/S9) and you can actually download any mp3 sound or music file at all (lots of free mp3 sounds avail on web like big dog barking, wind chimes, music, anything at all) and it will play up to 15 seconds of it as an additional ring choice. When button is pushed, button itself lights to confirm press, and the doorbell box outer color ring flashes in any color of several choices. It can also flash 2 small low power white strobes on the top. You can optionally turn off the color ring flashing and/or the strobes if you want to. The lights continue to flash for a few seconds in case you have that "Did I just hear the doorbell?" visual confirmation or when there's loud music or TV on. If you attach more than one button like I did (you can up to have 6 or use add'l proprietary sensors or such but I don't), you can have each button be either the same or different ring tone and/or flashing ring color. I have the front door on a plain old ding-dong ring with blue flashing and my side door with different ring with green flashing. You could even use another extra button(s) as a call button for a bedridden person's caretaker alert in addition to it being your doorbell with different colors and ring tones for each button. You can even program a 2nd secret ring tone from the any button(s) triggered by 3 quick pushes (like for urgent or "It's me" or whatever). Very cool. Range on this top line model is very good. They say 450'. I have the main doorbell button mounted on the outside of a solid wrought iron gate post outside in front and it has to transmit through the solid iron, through front glass and metal door, and through the main door and it reliably triggers the doorbell every time anywhere I put the box inside my 2700 sq ft 2 story house with no glitches. I got the battery one for easy portability (5 years on 4 C cells) but they also make this as a wall plugin model I believe. If you don't want the mp3 download ability, there's a cheaper one that does all this except mp3 (but it specified less range, may or may not be a factor for you). Hope this helps you stop wasting time looking for the best doorbell! Look no further.

I like the ability to add any mp3 as an additional ringtone. The unit itself seems nicely built. Installation is easy enough; the doorbell button went right where my old one was and is screwed in not taped as some. If you are wall mounting the main unit it takes more time, say 30 minutes to plan the location, drill the holes, etc. Volume seems adequate. I can understand that for the hearing impaired the light function could be nice, but I don't need that yet. A store owner might appreciate the motion detection function so he could be alerted when someone enters the shop. Dislikes: Well the wireless range is ok but sensitive to position. I was hoping to be able to set it on a picnic table on my back porch so we could hear it when working in the yard; nope. It's only a 50' range and only has to go through the door and a window, but nada. However, by experimenting I found that it would work when paced even further away with more partitions in the way. My conclusion was that the signal from the button is weakest when the unit is aligned directly with it. So if you are thinking of using this in a remote location, beware of positioning. My other dislike is that this thing has so many buttons on the side and top that it's almost impossible to pick it up without changing some setting. The only practical way to grab it is to spread your hand around it and grasp the sides or top and bottom with your fingers. When you do that you are bound to press the buttons which can cause the bell to mute, change the tune, change the light pattern, etc. Then you have to spend time figuring out what you did and how to reset it. All in all, I will probably keep it.

I only put one star for the motion detection because I did not buy that extra option I have a small house so I have it turned up pretty loud and in the kitchen up high on a cabinet and I can hear it throughout the house when someone rings the bell. It blends very well. It is an old house so there was no option to have a regular bell installed without paying high price for electricians so this was perfect I took the sticker off and instead of screwing it into the siding of my house where there was no wood behind it I just stuck it to my mailbox that is on my house so it's very easily can be seen on my black mailbox. There is not a ton of choices for music or tunes or noise to select. I just picked the longest one so I could still hear it if I wasn't sure if I heard it if I was far away from it. I do have the light option set and just follow the directions exactly as it says and it is easily to set on off or pick a different color that you would like. So I can see how this would be great for someone who is deaf and have the flashing light come on to show that the doorbell is rigging. I bought two other different battery operated doorbells and they failed in comparison to this and I'm very pleased with it after doing many long hours of searching and reading reviews.

I am hard of hearing and not mechanical and live in an apartment. This doorbell fit both needs and also lights up. You don’t need screws to attach it. They provide stickers. I didn’t attach it to a wall so that I could move it from room to room. You can choose your own sound and sound level. You can choose the color of the light and the brightness and even turn it off if you don’t want it. They provide a sticker to attach outside bell, again, not needing screws. I chose instead to use glue to attach it. I placed it next to old doorbell and covered the old one up with tape. I had a question and their customer service was friendly, helpful and quick to answer my question. I definitely recommend this doorbell

I bought this product with the sole purpose of using a custom doorbell chime, as this is the ONLY device on the market that advertises such feature. I've always wanted custom chimes for the holidays or just for the laughs, and I'm surprised no other product is offering that feature. Unfortunately, this feature is either false advertising or I am just incredibly unlucky, as I've now tried two new devices and on both, I am unable to upload any custom chimes to my device, as the computer can't recognize the USB device. I've tried EVERYTHING to get this to work. I've used 3 different computers running different versions of Windows (7, 10, and 11) and I have had no luck getting any computer to recognize the drive. I've used different micro USB cables, taken the batteries out of he device, and tried messing around in device manager, yet I've had no luck. On Windows 10, the device reads as having some sort of issue and can't be read by the computer. On Windows 7 and 11, it gives me nothing at all. I've even looked online to see if there are any drivers I can download to the device to fix the issue, but I've come up empty handed. Other reviews say that apparently this is a KNOWN issue and all you can do is get a new device every time and hope that you get one that isn't a total dud. After trying two brand new devices, I'm done. I sent both devices back and I'm not going to be trying a third. I'm convinced that it's almost deliberate and Honeywell has 0 intention of fixing it. On their own website, their only troubleshooting suggestion is to unplug and re-plug the device back into a different USB port... If you're looking for a standard doorbell, this one is fine, but you can pay a fraction of the price for a doorbell that does the same stuff as this one, minus the custom chimes feature. The pre-programmed chimes are just ok, and the colored lights are a nice touch. I especially like the blinking white ones at the top next to the mute button, which would be good for those who are hearing impaired. The device is quite loud, maybe even too loud, as the audio can start to become distorted on the highest volume. There is also some delay between the initial press and the chime going off on the receiver, which is a little frustrating, but not enough that the average person will notice. It's an ok doorbell at best, but I'm very disappointed that one of it's biggest features (and arguably the feature most worth the $50 price tag) simply doesn't work.

This is the most fun doorbell I've ever owned. I put 30+ MP3 files on it for different seasons and moods, and bought a second one to sync for downstairs so I can hear it all over the house.

5star for seller, who give me a refund because doorbell didn’t ring first or second time when pressed I think it it common fault with these doorbells shame really.

El timbre funciona bastante bien, utiliza un par de baterías tamaño “c” (no incluida), el alcance en feria es bastante bueno. La ventaja que le veo es que al utilizar baterías lo puedes acomodar en el lugar que mejor te convenga sin cables o extensiones, el volumen es bastante bueno y configurable, otra ventaja que se le puede agregar archivos mp3 para personalizar el tono. El interruptor es bastante fácil de instalar.

Loud sound and works very well.

Très satisfaite de mon achat. Facile à installer et à configurer. Je l'utilise pour que les clients puissent sonner à mon guichet lorsque je ne suis pas sur place. Je peux transporter le récepteur avec moi et choisir une mélodie qui est agréable pour un environnement de travail. On peut même utiliser l'option silencieuse avec seulement une lumière qui s'allume.

La verdad esta bueno el timbre, no me ha fallado y es muy sencillo de utilizar simplemente pones baterias y listo OJO bateria tipo C 4 son requeridas y no viene en la caja. el rango es increible lo he dejado a distancia de 10 metros y sigue sonando sin problema ponerle MP3s es muy bueno muy divertido.
