This is a great garage grinder- you won't be sorry.
I've only had it for 3 months, but it's already been worth the purchase. It's quiet & smooth- not near as much vibration as the one it replaced. The speed adjustment is handy & it's a great addition to my garage tools.

It’s a good unit and performs as advertised.
I like the grinder. It’s powerful and fits my needs. It came with a slight vibration but nothing that was a concern. Recently, that vibration became so bad that I couldn’t use it. I tried switching wheels but that didn’t help so I contacted the company and they are replacing it with a new unit, no questions asked. A great example of outstanding customer service!

Solid grinder
Feels solid and well built and stable. Smooth power with nice adjustable speed, although I wish it had a bigger range especially on the slow end. The included grinding wheels aren’t great. The coarser wheel is difficult to use and doesn’t seem good quality. The finer wheel is better, but still not great. They become irregular and rough and need to be dressed often. I think upgrading to higher quality stones would be helpful and most people would want to do this sooner rather than later. So that’s an extra cost. The built in light is functional. The safety guards are ok. Supports are adequate for most small jobs. Longer blades are tough to work on because the machine itself gets in the way. You can really only grind a blade that is about 5 inches long. Probably better suited for hatchets and chisels and cleaning up tools and maybe sharpening drill bits

Quality very bad, both wheels defective, ditto both tool rests. VERY disappointed.
I am terribly disappointed in the dismal manufacturing quality of this WEN bench grinder. The first problem I noticed was with the tool rests. I did not look at them closely until I attached them the to grinder, per the instructions. It was immediately apparent that the right one in particular was not level and not even flat. It was warped and twisted, and very obviously so. The left one wasn’t perfect either, but the right one was so bad that it left no uncertainty as to the fact that manufacturer has no quality control. In fact, if you look closely at the first picture in the listing, the tool rest on the right looks like it is tilted, and possibly not flat. I did not notice this in the picture until just a few moments ago, when I sat down at the computer to deal with this. When I noticed it in the picture, I could not help but notice that the one pictured and the one sent to me are the same, so far as I can tell from the picture, zoomed in. I hadn’t decided whether to simply accept this very obvious defect, or to do the other obvious thing. But at that point I had it assembled, including the eye protection parts, so I decided to spin it up. I set the speed control to the lowest setting, then plugged it in and threw the switch. The switch looks kind of neat, by the way. It turned out that it was smart to have set the speed to the lowest setting, because this made it easier to see the wobble in the wheels. The both wobbled, but differently. The wobble that I noticed first was the course wheel, the darker one on the left. It was impossible not to have noticed the wobble. I removed the wheel cover and the wheel (removing the cover requires first removing the tool rest), then I turned the shaft slowly by hand while carefully watching the shaft to see whether it was or wasn’t perfectly straight. So as I could tell, it was perfect. The problem must then be with the wheel. I examined it, and saw that there was a plastic insert in the center hole. I couldn’t decide whether this was or wasn’t the likely problem. As I thought about it, it occurred to me that this insert would determine the on-center positioning but that the two sides plates and the tightened bolt should insure that the wheel would not wobble in the way that it did. I thus decided that it probably hadn’t been properly tightened. I checked both sides of the wheel for smoothness and absence of foreign material. And I checked the two plates. Everything looked good, so I put it back on and I tightened it. On thing that I learned when removing and reinstalling the wheel is that the threading on the left end of the shaft is “reversed”. Before I discovered that, I assumed that by holding the nuts at both ends, with wrenches, that this would allow me to tighten both nuts. The reversed direction of the threading at one end makes this impossible, and the reason for this is no doubt so that you won’t be able to over-tighten either end and crack the wheel. You have to hold the wheel with one hand (the gloved hand) while tightening the nut with the other. After I tightened it properly, the bulk of the wobble went away, but not all of it. There was still a small but noticeable amount of wobble, and I wasn’t able to identify the reason. Before I realized that you cannot turn the nuts at the two ends against each other, I had removed the right cover. This allowed me to check the right wheel for similar problems. It had a slight, barely perceptible amount of the same kind of wobble, But, far worse, the center hole was not located at the true center. This meant that it would not be properly balanced, but what’s worse, it meant that while holding a tool (more likely a mower blade) against the wheel, the tool would make contact with the wheel at only a narrow, particular point on the wheel circumference. Tightening the wheel would not correct this. The on-center position of the wheel is determined, before tightening, by whether the plastic insert in the center hole is properly centered. It was not properly centered, and because of this, the wheel was uselessly defective. After I noticed this defect in the fine grit wheel on the right, I looked at the left wheel to see if it also had this particular defect. It did. Because I wanted to know just how much of a problem this would be, I put a small piece of cardboard on the tool rest on the right and slowly pushed it forward with the motor set to the slowest speed. It was quite apparent that this would be a problem with almost anything I tried to do with either wheel. Between the defective wheels and the defective tool rests, there just wan’t any way that I could live with this bench grinder. And you know what that means.

Woks great and love the variable speed
I like it a lot. The variable speed is great. It takes a while to spin up but most larger grinders do.

Works great
I see a lot of negative reviews, mine is great and I have nothing negative to say. I have it for a year now and zero issues. The variable speed is awesome too. I used this thing often and I love it

Very Good with some mods.
Decent grinder in the price range but had some vibration issues which was really annoying. I worked that out by buying some machined collars off of eBay and by replacing the cheap wheels it comes with. Made a huge difference. To get it perfect you will also have to balance the wheels all stone type grinding wheels are imbalanced. I had to spend another 75.00 to get this grinder where I wanted it to be between the collars and new grinding wheels. Still way cheaper than a jet which would have been my next option.
