Very good DHA & EPA levels per cap and good price
Best vegan omega 3 supplement with highest levels of EPA and DHA per cap for price. My daughter has to take 9 a day to meet her doctors minimum 4000 mg a day requirement which is better than the 12 and 20 a day of other brands she had to take in the past. No fishy after taste.

Great Algae oil product, non gmo
Excellent product. These seem to be exactly what they claim to be. Fish free. No bad taste. Individually wrapped in blister packets so they are always fresh and no sticking together. Great product. I have reordered several times.

has helped with my cholesterol numbers
I have tried about every vegan and vegetarian omega-3 DHA/EPA supplement out there. They go in and out of stock and so whenever I can't find an old favorite, I look for a new brand. This is the latest one I tried.Back in February or March, I had a cholesterol test where my HDL was 51 and my total cholesterol was 165. Within the last couple of weeks, I started using this product, and found my total cholesterol dropped to 150, though my HDL went up to 56. As a woman, I'd still like my HDL to be over 60 (that's the "good" cholesterol, in case you didn't remember), but even after only a few weeks on this product, the trend is in the right direction. (For what it's worth, I started taking an omega-3 fatty acid supplement to help get my cholesterol under control. I also stopped eating refined grains 7 or 8 years ago, and that has helped as well. I have been a vegetarian for 24 years and generally keep to a high carb (fiber), low fat diet.)Since I have actual results from a lab, I feel like I have an objective measurement of this product, and even though my numbers were pretty good before, they're even better now. These are rather large, oleaginous gel-type caps (sans gelatin, of course). I do not find them difficult to swallow, but they are on the large side for supplements. I do not refrigerate them (some omega-3 supplements require this). I do not find them to have any kind of scent or aftertaste, which is nice (some other brands, even vegan ones, have a fishy/seaweed sort of aftertaste).I am not such a fan of the blister packs (this comes with several cards containing pills individually packaged). I understand this keeps them fresh and sealed away from air, where they might degrade, but I find the packaging a bit more annoying to deal with than a bottle containing all the pills. You would want to keep the box closed and in a cabinet to avoid light exposure, because one side of the blister packs is clear (the other side is, as you might expect, foil).I take these in the evening with food, at my largest meal of the day. I figure they may be helping the fat-soluble vitamins from my multivitamin get absorbed more efficiently. I like that this has DHA and EPA instead of ALA, since ALA (what you find in flax, chia, etc.) is inefficiently converted to the active forms DHA and EPA in the body. With this product, you get full doses of the active forms.Anyway, very happy with this and will be buying it again soon.

It contains CARRAGEENAN.
It contains CARRAGEENAN for those of you concerned about that.It is listed on the web page under ingredients. I didn't notice it when I ordered. It's not returnable so I had to throw it away.

smells fishy
As someone already mentioned, the quality seems to have gone down. I have used these capsules for years but when I opened the last package, the fish smell was overwhelming. Testa says on its website that fish smell like fish because they eat algae. So why have the capsules not ALWAYS smelled like this? I am a little wary now since I have a fish allergy. Not pleased!

Great Product- Great Company with a Mission to Save the Oceans
I've bought other algae omega-3 products in the past from various makers. I decided to try Testa because the per-capsule potency is a little higher for DHA, so I only need to take one a day to get the 250 DHA that Dr. Greger of Nutrition Facts recommends. I started using algae oil omega-3 years ago because of the negative health affects of fish oil. Before I bought it I emailed the company with questions. They operate out of Amsterdam in The Netherlands but got back to me the next day. Eva, in support explained that they are a small, but growing company started by friends who are trying to help save the worlds oceans by providing omega-3 oil from algae instead of fish. She referenced Author Paul Greenberg's book, The Omega Principle, which is sounding the alarm about the unsustainable over-fishing of the oceans for omega-3 from fish. I had heard Greenberg explain on 'Fresh Air' that the harvesting of small fish for omega-3 supplements is having a horrible effect on the ocean food chain and hurting the oceans. So I was very happy to hear that Testa is trying to address this.I ordered the product and I like it and plan to stick with Testa. I have contacted them a few times with questions at 'support at testa-omega3 dot com' and I have always received a quick and helpful response. They have kind of lighthearted looking packaging, but I think they are a serious company with a great product and great customer service.
