These type of rubberized magnets are designed to be placed on flags to help prevent it from tangling in the wind. I purchased a less expensive set here on Amazon and the magnets kept falling off in the breeze, the flag tangled up on the mast, and just a mess. I'm not even talking a strong wind, but on a breezy day.They were junk and are being returned.Here is your Answer:No, not all magnets are the same or have the same holding power. These flag magnets are considerably stronger than the other set I purchased. You can actually feel them pull and click together. The rubber material covering the magnet is also of a better quality. This set has been on my flag for a while now and have not fallen off or allowed the flag to tangle on itself. They do the job they were intended to do and I'm pleased with them. Recommended product.10/18/2024 Update:This past week we had a pretty strong wind storm. There were fallen trees in a nearby park. I was certain that some of the magnets would have fallen off the flag. But none fell off and they held beautifully. Flag was not tangled and looks great. Just an FYI. Thanks.

I was extremely disappointed with my recent purchase of the flag magnets. Pulled into the driveway two times to find the magnets on the ground. They do not work as advertised! Would not recommend this item.!

It works! Dont worry about the negative comments, this product works really well. I live in a windy area and its preventing my flag from taking off. I am very happy!

This product works good on my flag but if wind is higher than 10MPH for a long time they will come off.

I was ready to not fly a flag any longer as I was tired of constantly having to get out the ladder and unravel my flag that was wrapped several times around the pole. So I started doing some research on how to keep your flag from wrapping around a pole and came across "flag magnets" I couldn't believe I had never researched them before. I purchased these magnets after reading several reviews as it seemed like the best option on Amazon.I put the magnets on the flag on Sunday morning the day before Labor Day. I will admit we had a lot of storms and rain on Labor Day. When I left the house on Tuesday morning I noticed a portion of the flag was wrapped around the pole. I was a little annoyed but thought, ok we did have storms. However, when I grabbed something to help reach the flag (as it was only the end of the flag that had wrapped around slightly) I noticed that the flag only had three of the four magnets (as pictured). I looked around on the ground and was able to find one side of the missing magnet. As you can see in the photo the flag is above a lot of hedges and bushes and I just was unable to find the second piece of the magnet. I was very surprised as the magnets really do have a lot of magnetism. I can only assume it knocked up against the house or pole and came loose.I am giving this 3 stars because of the fact that after two days we are already down one magnet. I know that it did wrap around the pole slightly but compared to how it usually would wrap around the pole several times I am ok with a slight wrap in a bad storm. Overall I am "semi" pleased but am worried over time we will lose all the magnets.Pros:** The flag did not wrap around the pole many times during a storm** The flag does seem to stay straighten in windy weather** Inexpensive fix to an annoying flag problem** The magnets are very powerfulCons:** After two days we have already lost one side of a magnet** During a storm the end did fly up high enough to wrap itself around the poleI will update this review in the coming weeks as I have more time to see if these magnets help keep our flag unraveled in a normal setting (no bad storms). I am also going to place the magnets above the stitching on the flat in case that is causing any issues with keeping them together, which I thought I had done previously, so it could be the magnets are slipping down the flag somehow. These are great if you like flying flags. They keep the flag from wrapping around the pole.

Color looks great but they are lighter than hoped and don’t stay on the flag even in a minimal amount of wind. Seriously less than 10 mph wind and they blew off and flung into the yard.

It's March, I live on a hill and the first set of weights bought were the clip on variety and the wind has made the flag whip them off somewhere (into the mulch below or bush behind it but can't find them so not sure). By being bright red and strong magnets, IF they should be flung (heavier then previous weights plus the magnets seem quite strong so I do not think it will happen), I hope they'll be easier to find.Update: flag came off one night and was found in the neighbor's yard this weekend but only one magnet found (I even had access to a rolling magnet that construction guys use to find the nails they lose but no dice!). I order more magnets (and unlike hubby, tied the flag to the pole) so hopefully we will find the magic number to keep the flag from getting away.
