It's Hard To Describe Exactly How Much I LOVE this product!!
It's hard to describe how much I love this product. I'd been waiting so long for it and for the longest time, I didn't think it was going to happen. I'd even written Proraso two or three times over the years, practically begging them to make an After Shave with this scent. It's a WONDERFUL Sandalwood style scent. I can't quite place what else is in there and I'm sure that's Proraso proprietary information. All I know is that it smells great and is very smooth. As with most After Shaves, it's close to the skin and while this one lasts longer than most, I still wanted to smell the scent all day long. My solution? Use the Shaving soap as a shower soap. I've found that by using the Shaving soap as a shower soap, in conjunction with using the After Shave as a body splash, the scent stays with me all day long, exactly as I hoped. Yes, it remains a skin scent but it's still there and as a body splash, it makes my skin very smooth. To feel extra clean and fresh, when I'm wearing a white shirt and especially in the summer time, I'll put a bit of Pinaud Bath Talc on as well.Additionally, I rub a bit on my armpits before using an unscented deodorant gel. It's fights odor EXTREMELY well and in addition, it works well enough to offset the underarm odor that gets into shirts. Occasionally, after washing my clothes, I can still smell the scent in the armpits.I could ramble on about this endlessly but it's a great product, inexpensive and lasts a long time, whether using it as simply an After Shave or as a body splash.

Hits it out of the park
I stopped using aftershaves just after high school. I had been using cheap drug store scents and once I "discovered" department store quality colognes I gave up on them (I used them more for the smell than for the after shave skin conditioning). I stopped using colognes in my early-20s when I was a salesman and found that some people with allergies or sensitivities to scents wanted to get out of my office to avoid the scent long before I had closed the sale. After that, I never really got back into it.Fast forward a bit over 20 years and I got into wet shaving (pre-shave, good quality soap or cream lathered with a bowl and brush, DE razor) due to skin sensitivities after 20 years of wearing a beard or goatee and my skin being unused to shaving and I needed just a little more to combat skin irritation. I didn't want to spend a fortune but I didn't want the cheap drug store brands and smells of my teens. I wanted something that smelled good, but that wasn't too overpowering. So, I decided to give Proraso and a few others a try. I have this and IMHO one of the nicer drugstore/grocery store brands (Nivea). I may buy the Nivea again, but I will definitely buy the Proraso again. Both have the subtle but nice and masculine scent that I wanted, neither is too intensely scented, but this, while subtle, lasts a lot longer and has a much nicer smell. I find myself reaching for the Proraso about 3 or 4 times to every one time I reach for the Nivea after a shave (and when I shave in the evening I put this on in the morning as well for the scent). I like it enough that I'm not sure that I'm going to buy some of the others I had my eye on (especially those that cost more) since I like this one so much. I may have found "my" smell on the first try.So, how's it work as an aftershave? I like it. Like I said, after 20 years with a beard or goatee and certain parts of my face never seeing a razor, my skin was pretty sensitive once I started shaving again. I don't use this in isolation, but rather with the whole wet shaving routine of pre-shave oil (and shaving only after either a shower or a hot towel treatment), high quality shave soap or cream bowl lathered with a brush (or occasionally face lathered with a brush), DE razor, alum block, plus the aftershave lotion. It is alcohol based so I do use a body moisturizer on my face after I use this aftershave (though the times I haven't, this didn't seem to dry my face at all). This aftershave really does help to cool some of the sore spots after shaving. It feels great on my skin. And coupled with the moisturizer lotion my skin feels great for hours after.

Porasso's best product
Awesome, classic and manly scent - Great aftershave - it has shea butter - I am not a huge fan of, as I prefer the astringent and alcohol burn feel (so you know its working..lol), but this is really good and leaves my face feeling good and smooth all day. Again, this scent is amazing, and if a mans scent could be described as status / luxury, it would be this imho.

Very nice at a good price
I don't know why it took me so long to try this, I have a million other shaving products. This one has a good sandalwood scent and lasts for hours. Reasonably priced as well, would definitely recommend.

The perfect companion to Proraso Red Shaving Soap!
This is the companion aftershave to Proraso's Red line of shaving products, and just like their croap in a bowl (which I absolutely love, by the way), it has the nice, clean, masculine scent of sandalwood but doesn't overpower me. The splash feels ever so slightly oily on your hands, but that may be because it has castor and shea oils as emollients to help lock moisture into your skin, and you'll really appreciate this during the really dry winter months after a shave. Thankfully that initial feeling of oiliness doesn't carry over to your mug. Quite the contrary, my skin feels smooth and soothed after a two pass with my Parker TTO. There is some alcohol content, but nowhere near enough to make you scream; it's just an ever so slight burn or tingle as it disinfects the pores. I swear there are some citrusy undertones in there too, but the note that stands out first and foremost is the sandalwood essence. It doesn't take a whole lot of this aftershave to do its job either, or as the old saying goes, a little goes a long way. I splash this on my face and head and it'll last for about 4-5 hours before fading away completely. I kind of wish it lasted longer, to be honest... -.-Some people may call the scent a little "old fashioned," but you know what? My g/f (who I am now happily married to) likes it and says I "smell like a real man." You can't ask for a better endorsement than that, fellas. And at a little over four bucks per ounce, it just seems like a winner to me. ^_^ Besides, there are far worse values to be had in the world of men's toiletries. Five stars!
