Amazingly Easy Smart Bulbs – Bright, Colorful, and Convenient! I couldn’t be happier with the Tapo L530E smart bulbs—they exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I unboxed them, the setup was incredibly easy. Within minutes, I had them connected to my WiFi and fully integrated with Alexa. No hubs, no complicated steps—just plug them in, follow the simple app instructions, and they’re ready to go! The integration with Alexa and Google Assistant is seamless. With just a voice command, I can turn the lights on and off, adjust the brightness, and even change the color to match my mood. Whether I want a soft warm glow for the evening or a bright white for working, the customization options are fantastic. The colors are vibrant, and the dimming function works perfectly. The Tapo app is another highlight—it’s user-friendly, responsive, and packed with features. I love being able to schedule lights to turn on and off automatically, which is great for security when I’m away. The Away Mode is also a great touch, randomly switching the lights on and off to make it look like someone is home. On top of all this, the bulbs are energy-efficient while still being extra bright when needed. If you’re looking for reliable, easy-to-use smart bulbs that work flawlessly with voice control, these are a must-have!

Since these heatwaves I have been pulling my curtains during the day and also sleeping in my lounge as it’s the coolest room in the house. I decided to buy a floor lamp and choose this light to go in it. Mainly because I have other Tapo products that I am pleased with. This light is really good. You can adjust the colour, brightness, scenes (not many). What I like most is you can put the biorhythm on. This makes the light automatically adjust to daylight hours and it dims at night to an almost night light ambience. It was very easy to set up, reasonably priced for two bulbs. I would recommend.

I got 4 bulbs to replace longe/ dining table lamps bulbs (connected via Amazon Smart Plugs) as I found the fixed Cool light too bright when watching TV etc. Very easy to set up via the TAPO App, which is automatically recognised by the Alexa App. There were various bulbs available on Amazon, but I decided to pay a little bit more as I knew TP Link / TAPO from PC/Network kit I used at work and home which was always excellent. Once set up the bulbs work excellent, I changed the settings group to "LIGHTS", and basically just say "Light On/Off - Lights 10 or 50 or 100 for brightness - Various colours of White from Warm to Cool or Daylight - Although I will probably not use it, I got the Colour Version of bulbs which also works very well giving endless colours. Note- Its best to give each bulb a different name to allow you to setup individual colours if in same area, then put them into a group to activate them all at same time. I have bought another couple as I am very pleased with the quality and ease of use and I now have 6 x spare Alexa Smart Sockets. Highly recommend these TAPO Bulbs.

Plenty bright for a reasonably sized room when using white light. My rooms are 4x5 yards and I find that a brightness setting 25% is comfortable for most tasks. According to my smart meter this only uses a couple of watts. Set up was easy. One the account was created the Tapo app talks you through the process complete with diagrams. I did have a problem initialising one of the bulbs which it refused to add to the virtual network. Reading the troubleshooting guide the app presented told me that I shouldn't be running a VPN while initialising the bulb. Turned it off and hey presto. The VPN doesn't affect interacting with the bulb after it has been initialised and added to your home network. Timers and schedules are stored on the bulb, so you don't have to have an active network or mobile device available once these are set up. You can easily configure what the bulb does when it is switched on. It can use the same colour and brightness setting it was using when it was switched off or it can default to any colour and brightness you specify. Means that you don't have to fiddle around with a device when you turn it on at the wall. There are some weaknesses. The themes, which let you have the bulb changing colour continuously, aren't great. They either switch directly from one colour to another or fade towards black, change colour and brighten again. Missing is an option to move smoothly through the colour spectrum from one colour to the next - even my dumb 16 colour bulb with a remote control can do that, so it's strange this can't. It also doesn't seem to be possible to set a theme as the default on setting which means you can't use a schedule to have the bulb switch on running a theme. The gradual on/off setting isn't gradual enough - it takes under a second. It would be nice if you could set how long it takes to go from off to your desired brightness and vice versa. One can only hope that a future software update may correct some of these weaknesses.

I really like these light bulbs. They are actually RGBW, meaning the RGB colors mix with the white (and possibly yellow) tones, so they can produce a wide spectrum of colors. They also have Wi-Fi and can be controlled via the Tapo app, which is surprisingly good. I tried to add more effects, but only two are allowed. The bulb’s responsiveness is quite slow there’s a noticeable lag or delay when changing colors or effects. Without wifi they are impossible to control. Good value for the price.

Been simply amazing since I have bought these and working with alexa makes it even more funner. They are bright and great for setting a mood in the hiuse. The control of them is easy either use alexa or your phone to set it how you want. The build quality is great too. Only one downside and that is when linking to the tapo app these bulbs do not show in the recommended so you have to select the 530 in the app and wait for the app to find this bulb. Other than that they are great.

Bought one bulb, I loved it so much that I have now replaced all lights in my home with Tapo. I can have my lights on ready for when I come home, instead of walking in to complete darkness. I love all the colours in any hue and any setting from 1% -100%. I don’t have to move , just tell Alexa what I want and it’s done. No more finger prints on sockets. Such a huge range of modes from bedtime to away on holiday to turn on at dusk.. these are amazing. So many more settings. I hated the thought of having these, but wow, I’m so happy I tried one, as now I am going fully smart. So easy to install as well. Connection in 2 minutes Inc Alexa, at the press of a button. I am going to get a smart pack sorted for my daughter now for Xmas. Honestly if you are like me and hated the thought of a smart home, please buy one and try, I promise you will replace everything. Your whole home at the touch of a button from absolutely anywhere!! I did think it would be too difficult for me to use as well, being an older person with less technical ability everyday. They really could not be any easier, I promise you.

It excellent bulb compare to other brands,but only the white it's not very very very bright..but it's not bad at all .. but u can consider buying tp-link (tapo) without any hesitating because it's excellent brand.. the other color is so nice... but if u want so so white.. you should consider 10W or more ..

Good lights, work well. Mine came from the UK but worked fine here. I linked my TAPO (TP-Link) account to Alexa so can control them from Alexa as well as the TAPO phone app. TAPO app is limited in color choices 7 plus white and auto white), you can get more choices with Alexa (15 plus 5 shades of white). Also in TAPO you can group lights to a location and switch all on/off at the same time but light color changes are NOT synchronized when running in the change color mode (Theme). That is annoying. I am sure I can sort it out with some Home Automation work.
