OXO Good Grips Analog Instand Read Thermometer

Like all OXO products, this thermometer is well-designed. It come with a slender case for the pointy part, which is sharp enough to easily slide into cooked meat (or bread, casseroles, or whatever you may want to take a temperature reading of). Simple design, simple to clean, easy to store!

I was using it wrong at first and was confused that it didn't seem to work. You have to stick it in the thickest part of the meat and push it down all the way until it hits the grayed out part on the needle. If you just stick the tip in, it won't work. Unless you're cooking a large roast, you do have to come in at angle because smaller pieces of meat most likely will not be thick enough to go all the way through straight in. But it works great once you figure out how to use it.

I liked using it and not having to need batteries .It has accurate reading of temperatures.

Started out reading correctly, but 4 months in it did not register temperature within even 20 degrees of accuracy. I compared the reading to a digital thermometer, and it was way off. I’m disappointed that the return window closed before it showed itself to be defective.

It seems sturdy—it’s “instant read”—can be left inserted— and it’s readable without a magnifying glass! Good, simple product, not too expensive

How many stars can I give....I mean it's a meat thermometer and it works. It's mechanical so inevitably one day it will fail and I'll get another. I do like the plastic sleeve used for storage. Ho yea, the printing is a little small for my old eyes. That may be a factor when I have to buy another one.
