We have PowerWheels and Peg-Perego quads, so it was so cool to get a charger that had both adapters. I bought this just after buying the quads for my kids, so I have no sense of comparison on charging time, but I know that the cheapy wall-chargers included with the toys are known to over-charge these expensive batteries, so that was my main motivation in buying this automatic charger.I have both batteries on a shelf in the garage when the kids aren't riding, and I just leave the adapters connected so I can alternate between them every few days to ensure that they're kept charged. The indicator lights are great and it's easy to immediately tell the charge status.It may sound weird, but I took an extra deep-cycle marine battery camping just so I could use a power-inverter with this charger and keep charging the quad batteries for the kids. It worked great!For convenience, I may even buy another unit just so I can keep both batteries on a float charge without swapping a single unit between them.

I purchased this to charge my granddaughter's new Razor 4-Wheeler upon the advice of one of the reviews for that item, and I am so glad I did. For starters, I love that it charges so much faster than the battery that came with the 4-wheeler. Secondly, since it's a smart charger, I don't have to worry that I'm going to overcharge her battery, as it stops charging when the battery is full! Since it's manufactured by Schumacher, I know it's a quality product. I have many Schumacher products and have never had a problem with any of them. They are reliable and the company stands behind it's products! Get this! The small $40 investment is worth it to be free from the hassles of waiting a long time for batteries to charge and worrying whether or not you unplugged the battery before it overcharged.

I bought it for a peg perego 24 v ride on. It charges great. Yes the voltage starts out above 24 v but it does drop after measuring the batteries voltage. It charges well but not overly aggressive.

Overall, it is a great upgrade from the cheesy OEM charger that you had to monitor for overcharging. I found two issues using this unit that warrants the 4-stars. First, it does not have a reversed connection indicator like the normal automobile charger has from the same manufacturer. it's more of a gripe, since all the ride on connectors are key'd and should never be reversible...it would have helped when making my own. Lastly, it does not come with the simple 4-pin towing trailer connection/adapter for the Kids Motorz 12V Rolling Rambler battery. I had to make my own connection from Bullet-Female / Male Terminals that I found at the auto parts store. You can see from the picture, the little blue (2-pin) connector on the right, that's the one you use to adapt with the bullet terminals to make your own.

We bought our son the PW Dune Racer for his third birthday next week. We got home with it late and I painfully dug through the box to pull out the battery, knowing it required an 18 hour initial charge, before hiding the rest in the attic. I've had a few days to tinker and learn about lead-acid batteries to determine the best solution and decided on the Shumacher CR-1 as it would be plug-and-play with Power Wheels' 12v lead-acid battery (ease of use).Just completed that '18-hour' initial charge in under 4 hours (hit 80% quick charge in 2-hours). Now it is sitting in 'maintain' mode, where it could be left for eternity and the internal micro-processor would sense when it needs a voltage adjustment. That one that came with the toy... well just be sure your battery is in a fire-proof box in case you forget to unplug after the recommended maximum of 30 hours.The included docs recommend you complete the full 100% charge at least every three charges... so if your kid is ridding all day, you could do two quick charges before leaving it on over night.Right now you can get this on Amazon for about 1/2 the cost of a replacement battery- I paid up for the 'sold through Amazon' option to get it on-time (also want their customer service).I'll update this review on durability if for some reason we experience any problems. I'll point out the charger gave off a 'burning' smell initially but it died off and I think that will be a first-time thing. It also had a pretty loud squeal-noise while charging, but it will go in the garage soon, so that won't matter.==2-Month Update==Still very pleased with this purchase. The initial smell did not return, though the unit emits a squealing sound while in charge-mode (not a big deal while it is in the garage).Quick-charge is great. Most useful part is if my son is riding mid-day, but the neighbor kids don't come out until later afternoon, we can do a quick charge in-between and he has enough juice to play with his friends. I really like that I can leave this plugged in and forget about... don't we parents have enough to keep up with?

"Super super super cool daddy" to quote my 6 year old after only waiting 30 minutes for his dune buggy to charge. The factory charger plug had broken and I bought this as a replacement. Now I have one for the John Deere electric gator as well. Charges the batteries quickly, adapters are easy to install and swap around and it gets the kids back out in the yard quickly. Best part about this charger is that the kids can see the battery status from across the garage and know when it is time to go riding. Recommend this charger to be purchased at the same time as any ride on.

CR1 claims it's compatible with kid trax but does not come with an adapter. I had to order the adapter separately. The listing should make it obvious that not all adapters are included.

Bought a new battery along with this charger for about the same price as the Prego battery alone. The original Prego charger that came with riding tractor wasn't very good. This one has a trickle charger built in which works great as the Prego one doesn't and was overcharge the battery as there wasn't anything to tell you when the battery was fully charged which cooked the original battery and the 2nd one also. Wish I found this charger a few years ago, would have saved me a lot of money. Great 12v battery charger with 3 different hook ups. Make sure it's suitable for your make and model before you buy.

Works good for charging motorcycle battery

Charging time for the 12v hot wheels cars are much faster than the factory one provided. Still takes a few hours if battery is fully dead but never the less much quicker and I don’t have to keep track for how long it’s been charging as system is detects it automatically. Recommend it if your kids who drive those 12v vehicles a lot. It came with the hotwheels and peg perego battery adapters and another I believe but don’t remember.

This charger does a great job at charging the batteries on my son's peg perego four wheeler. As others have noted, it does make a high pitch whining sound while it's charging, but nothing overly loud.Be aware though that this charger only comes with a round plug. If you want to charge most peg perego batteries, you'll need to make your own adapter. This is the only reason why it didn't get 5 stars.

I bought this for my kids pegperego John deer gator ride on after realizing I had lost the last one. It charged it up quickly and the battery lasted as long as it used to.
