WINSOON 5FT Sliding Barn Door Hardware Kit, Double Doors, J Shape Hangers

This Barn Door rail as shown in my picture installed with very few issues. The Rail and parts are of very high quality. Installation Instructions were well written. Issue # 1 - Box was slightly damaged when received, but there were no damaged parts. The only issue was I was missing one bolt, washer, nut for the plate that joins my 2 - 6 ft. pieces. Call to the vendor - I had replacement parts in 2 days. Issue # 2 - I did not want to use a support board behind the rail, because I had put extra studding support behind the wall specifically for a future Barn Door Rail. Call to the vendor - they sent me a complete set of longer spacers, also received within a few days at NO charge. I changed my mind afterword and decided to put a support board in place anyway to give the rail more support - highly recommended. Issue # 3 - I could not figure out the best method for installing the Floor Guides without having to temporarily removing a bolt. Question into Vendor - I received an answer within 24 hours which provided the best procedure to follow - eliminating the need to remove any bolts. Bottom Line, Product Support is equally as important as Product Quality. I am giving the Product / Vendor a 5 Rating because both criteria was met very successfully.

So the hardware is great and the company even better. Reach out to them and they help you get exactly what you need. Here were my conundrums during installation: First, I needed to use one of the hollow wall fasteners. It wasn't load baring but it was to keep the track from flopping around on the end. The hollow wall fasteners sent are for standard drywall. I was too cheap to buy standard drywall when I built the room so the fastener didn't work. A quick trip to the hardware store and I was back in business. All that to say, if you used thinner drywall, you will need different fasteners than those provided. Next, and most importantly, the placement of the inner brackets on the doors. The pictures all show the brackets on the edges of the door. It looks amazing! However, if you actually place them there, the doors won't shut. The wheels stick out beyond the brackets and won't allow them to close. Don't make this mistake because drilling new holes aren't really an option. Pay attention to the wheels. I ended up correcting this mistake by purchasing HVAC pipe insulation tubes and putting those as buffers on the doors. Looks a little weird but not too bad. It did have a nice secondary affect in protecting the walls since I have an intentional 3" gap to the floor for airflow into the room. Finally, the directions are quirky and a bit difficult to follow at first. Just know that if it has two measurements, the second one is from the first measurement, not the starting point. Otherwise, great! Very smooth roll.

We did the 11 foot track because our room is 13 ft wide and we didn't want the track to go too far with double 32-in doors. My husband has been in construction for over 20 years and did it himself but it took about 2-3 hours. However, he is a perfection, used a laser level and maid sure this is flawless. He said he could do it quicker now knowing a few things. Directions are easy but you will need a drill. He was also able to use the one set of stoppers and made a stop in the center so the doors have limited movement and stay on their side. We have three boys under the age of 10 and our big concern was them swinging the doors back and forth on the track. Since it is two tracks of 5 1/2 ft he was able to create the bumpers in the center and on the ends. See the pictures. But this track was a great value my only complaint is they did not send some washers and we were short on those but once again we made it work.

Overall, a really high quality product that I am happy with and would buy again. That said, I bought the one piece 72" hardware kit as I had two doors that were 18" wide each. The hardware is pretty bulky and heavy for doors of that size. You need to PAY ATTENTION to the installation sequence. I did not put the stops on before mounting the track, and ended up having to remove one mounting bolt at a time to slide the stops on. Then, after they were on, I discovered the stops themselves were too wide for where the roller 'straps' were mounted on my doors. As a result, the doors would not fully close. Even with the center 'close' stops butted against each other, the rollers would hit the stop before the doors were fully closed. I removed them (had to remove the mounting bolts one at a time again) and got creative. Drilled a hole in the track and used one of the extra spacers provided as a center stop. See photos. Again, overall a good price on a good quality product. Some details in the install notes regarding the need for a minimum spacing between the center rollers would have saved me a LOT of work.

The instructions were pretty good, but one thing that puzzled us was the step where the round things were installed on the front/top of the doors. It keeps the door from jumping off the track. I don’t think it mattered how far from the door hangers we put them. We put them about an inch inside the hangers on both sides. We have trim, so we had to build out the “header” so that it was flush with our existing trim so that the door wouldn’t hit on the bolts on the wall side of the door. Our door is 1 3/4” thick. For the doors to close all the way, we had to put the door hanger/roller on the inside of the door trim. The thing you have to strongly consider is the depth off the wall if you have trim and that the hangers are placed such that the doors closes all the way. We didn’t use the floor guide hardware that came with the kit because we don’t have a router. I’m glad we didn’t because it took so long for us to paint the door trim that the doors warped a little. We bought some that screw into the wall and you can adjust the base with different rollers. Make sure your wall is super flush and straight and I guess shim if necessary. Our wall bowed slightly on the right side and the rail is so rigid (for obvious reasons) that it scrapes a little on the right when we close the door. I think I will put an extra washer or two behind that one screw on the rail to straighten it out. We followed the directions precisely, and the height they said in the instructions worked out perfectly. It left about a half inch gap at the bottom of the door for air return when closed. The rail connector didn’t hold it level, and wasn’t as sturdy as I would have liked, so we didn’t connect them until we had one side hung completely. We took our time and it took about 4 hours from start to finish.

My husband and I bought a fixer-upper. And in order to save money we have been DIYing everything. We took down a closet in our house and we had closet doors that I up-cycled cut in half to use as shutters on the inside of the house. I used this barn door hardware and attached it to the old doors/ shutters. It was super easy to install and the glides roll perfectly smooth. We will be renovating our basement soon, and I already plan on ordering another set for down there!

Very nice. Directions were pretty easy to follow. Looks gorgeous. Made sure we added a header board anchored into the studs, then anchored the rail through the header into the studs so it's very sturdy. Needed the header to bump the rail out so the door didn't hit the trim around the door frame. Just make sure you know where the bolts fit the rail will go before screwing on the header. And put the door stoppers on the rail before screwing in the lag bolts. Only issue I had was the package was missing the anti jump pads, door stoppers and floor guides. Emailed the company, they made me take pictures of what was sent then they were able to send out the missing parts. Took a few days. I ended up ordering 2 door stops just so I could get the door up on time as I couldn't wait the few days for the missing parts. Overall very happy with the finished product.

I finally got to install this today. The fit my newly renovated room perfectly. Very happy with this purchase. 1. Instructions are pretty clear 2. My doors ate slightly thinner than the length of bolt so need additional washers so it can tighten properly 3. Rollers glide nice and smooth and are quiet 4. Had a set back... the middle plate to extend my track to 8ft snapped while getting it up, turns out I didnt really need it as my door stops needed to go into that spot anyway... but that's the one weak point 5. The guides for the floor I don't like as it's the ones to drill into the floor. I'm going to upgrade them to the rollers onetime. Would not have mind paying a little extra to have those upgraded.

We ordered this product in April and it arrived a few weeks later. When we were getting ready to install (June) we were saddened to see one of the rails (the 15ft track has 4 rails) wasn't in the package. We hadn't opened the box sooner unfortunately, so we were passed the date where a refund/exchange was automatic. We contacted the seller, because what we really wanted was just the missing rail to be sent out - and we needed that rather quickly because we were installing in a few days - however that wasn't possible, nor would it have been possible to a new kit sent in the time frame we needed. So even though it was past the refund date - the seller did refund our money. The seller was polite and courteous and worked with us to find a solution. What I can say about the product is that I would order again (and wish I could). It is a solid product and components look to be very sturdy and made well. The instructions were clear (because we could easily identify which part of the rail we were missing) and would have been easy to follow (although I did hire someone to install because of the height/weight of my doors). After sales service was excellent and a resolution to our situation was found very quickly. Communication was prompt, polite and I'm happy the seller was agreeable to a refund even though they were not required to. I think we would have been very happy with this product, but I simply didn't have the time to get a new one shipped.

Quality is great. I, however, ordered the wrong size and this company was amazing to deal with. Honest and fair.

First off, I am super happy with this purchase. Quality of the metal is great and it looks nice. My issue is with the directions, I almost ruined my barn doors on step one! I dont have the directions in front of me, but they say something along the lines of "measure down from the top of the door 1 3/4" and 3 3/4" and drill two holes with a 1/2" drill bit. Well I measurered and marked both holes with a pencil. Drilled the first hole (at 1 3/4") and was about to drill the second hole when I realized it didnt look right. So put the hanger up to check and sure enough the marks were off. It should actually be the second hole is 3 3/4" down from the first hole, but the directions say from the top of the door! If I hadnt stop to double check and just drillled the holes based on the instructions, I would have ruined two barn doors! That aside, love this product. But be careful with instructions!

Works as it should, and easy to assemble.

I returned it, my plans changed, but it was heavy quality , would definitely recommend and if my future projects require a barn door track kit I would definitely buy
