Very nice doors - but complicated to install!
This was our first time building and installing barn doors. We are not DIY project amateurs, but these were tough! The assembly was fine. No issues on the hardware or wood planks. We stained ours black for a rustic look. The difficulty was hanging them and installing the track. Thank goodness we read other reviews that pointed out the weight of these doors! The track itself is super heavy. We didn’t bother with the flimsy track hardware in the package. Instead we purchased heavy duty lag bolts and toggle bolts (6” each - could’ve been safe with 5”) to be 100% sure this door would stay up! Ours required a header piece to allow for a gap when sliding due to our door frame trim. (For a header piece we used a 2x4x8 for our 48” wide door, and a 2x4x6 for our 36” door)This takes at least two people to install and lots of patience! The instructions are garbage, but the reviews and videos help. Very smooth sliders and nice quality handles. They turned out great! 🖤

Nice looking door.
The instructions were pretty vague. But the installation is fairly straightforward. It looks good and it is the 2nd one I have. This one is in the house and I have another one in a barn.

Surprisingly good
I ordered this door kit with low expectations but was surprised with the quality. One thing that is important to know, the way the door is packaged, it is set up to be used on a flat wall with no door trim around the opening.I wondered about this fact before placing the order but found no reference to the measurements of clearance from the wall.I needed this door for a bath / laundry room. I could have mounted the door rail on a piece of 3/4" wood but the hardware would have made a gap of about 1.25" off the wall. I only wanted a .25 gap from my doorway trim to the barn door.I achieved what I was shooting for with many hours of work.Tips for the build.Use glue and clamp the stiles to make sure they are tight before putting the 3" screws into the factory holesSand the center panel pieces with 220 before assembly. If you want a close fit like I have, you will need to cut the bolts that attach the hanger rollers to the door after drilling (the inside of the door) deep enough to counter sink the inside bolts. I used big washers (spray painted black) as shims behind the rail mounts on the wall, this helped the barn door clear the trim when closed.Door was sanded with 220 after assembly and between waterbased clear coat. The inside plate of the handle set, sits on the surface, so if you want a tight gap, you will need to make a counter sink slot (about 1/4" deep and the size of the inside plate) and cut the 8mm screws down appropriately 1/4" so the handle would be tight on the front.I also added soft close actuators so the door will not jump or slam during use. Also found on Amazon for about $25.Door was rough and had some minor tearout in the center panel dados, but pieces where fairly straight. I made sure to assemble the door pieces as soon as possible to reduce chance of warping. So far the door is relatively flat and straight.Rail is one piece and rollers move smoothly on the rail. The brackets for the rollers were wide upon arrival. I had to use a large c clamp to pull them closer and tighten the axle bolts. Otherwise they scraped the walls and did not move on the rail.Overall I'm pleased with this barn door kit.

Pretty nice door overall
So honest opinion about this door. A lot of people in prior reviews had posted about incorrect milling and cuts. I had two pieces that were off, one was a tad bit long for the center of the door but nothing I couldn’t fix. The other was one of the very large side piece was severely warped. I contacted the company, they responded quickly, and mailed me a new piece free of charge. It worked out great, customer service was pretty good! I stained the door red mahogany one coat and two coats of wipe on polyurethane and I’m extremely happy with the end result! I did however order a different handle on Amazon as the original the door came with was a bit too modern for my taste. Also I highly recommend using a rubber mallet when assembling this door as some of the pieces are tight fitting. After seeing the door up and experiencing the customer service I experienced I recommend this purchase. Because of the two pieces that were not top notch I would have given this door four stars but I chose to give it five stars because of my customer service experience.
