Great stove
I purchased this stove a year or so ago and recently bought another for more cooking capacity. No issues so far with the first stove. The only con to this stove - considering price - is the weight. It's not heavy but lighter is always nice. This is only worth half a star. Many butane stoves sit above the fuel canister, a setup I don't particularly care for as that configuration can tip over. This stove allows everything to sit lower. It also keeps the fuel canister away from pots and pans, which for me is a plus but for others, the expanded footprint may be an issue. It also cools down quick enough to be packed away after the meal.An optional propane attachment would put this stove over the top, chef's kiss.If you're considering this stove, you may also consider a windscreen or setting up a wind break of some kind. Breezy days will lead to fuel waste and slower cooking times, an issue not specific to this stove but worth mentioning.

Ultralight? No. Still a good stove for small groups
This is the perfect stove for small group backpacking. It is too heavy and large to bother with for one or two people (or three for that matter). Once you end up in a group of four or more, like you would if you are a Scout leader like myself, you will need a stove capable of handling a larger pot. This stove fits the bill perfectly. Small stoves that sit on top of a canister are awesome and light (check out the BRS-3000 for an example). Unfortunately, they are not very good at handling a larger pot. Furthermore, the canister top stoves do not have much protection from the wind which diminishes their effectiveness. You have to be careful if you rig a windscreen for a canister top stove to make sure that you don't end up overheating the fuel can itself. With this remote stove, you can either purchase or make a lightweight windscreen which will enhance the stove's ability to concentrate the heat where it should be.This looks like it will become the standard stove we carry for our small group trips from now on.

A Good Smaller Camping/Hiking stove
I have several different types of the small hiking stoves and this is the best one overall. It's not the lightest or most compact, but will cover a variety of needs for 1 hiker to 2-3 campers. It is strong and can hold a decent size fry pan or pot without tipping over. It can also support the small stainless hiking cups that fit on the bottom of a 32oz Nalgene water bottle. Many of the little stoves will support either a small hiking cup or a bigger pot/pan, but not both, safely. The piezo-electric lighter works, but it is good insurance to carry a backup firestarter or 2. The hose on this is long enough to set the fuel can away from the heat or outside a wind-shield.Another advantage is the burner spreads the flame out compared to the tiny rocket stoves that focus heat on a small spot (good for boiling water, but not much else). It doesn't spread the flame as much as a normal kitchen stove, but it's better than most small stoves. I liked this model enough to buy a second one.

Great little stove
I bought this one because it includes an automatic lighting device so in the windy Icelandic tundra getting it started should be a snap. It boiled water very very quickly. When the legs are folded out it is stable. It weighs hardly anything. We made two full meals worth of boiling water and then fried up a whole can of spam and I can't feel that the fuel tank is noticeably lower than when it was new so it's not gobbling up gas.My review of this stove is three thumbs up! $17 bucks and you're all set for a stove for your bike(back)packing experience.

Skill level back packer 3 years
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I was needing a chaffing dish with high performance, the sterno and alcohol burners were stinky and the wife said just no. Now I can cook at church function ( eggs) and grill texas toast with cheeseIf your serving set can fit this you will be happy and it's much quieter than most back pack burnersNot for idiots, idiots get electric serving sets

For the price it's not bad I put a 12in cast iron pan on it ...
For the price it's not bad I put a 12in cast iron pan on it and it was plenty sturdy and stable a little on the bulky side if your ultralight backpacking but definitely worth it for the stability and sturdiness

Loving it
Definitely way more sturdy than the ones that sit on the tanks. We havent had a pot try to tip over yet. We also love how this flame doesnt shoot straight up so it's better for our bigger pots while camping as far as heat distribution we dont have that single burn patch at the bottom.

it was great, while it lasted.
I've had this stove for about 4 months and used it probably 2 dozen times?Worked awesome, cooked food fast, boiled water quickly.go to use it again, and suddenly the valve you use to adjust the amount of fuel going in, just starts puking fuel everywhere.

Awesome Stove
I was very pleasantly surprised by the convince, portability, and quality for price. I use it for making shore lunches when out fishing. Provides lots of heat to fry or boil with butane or propane with the adapter for propane. Love it.
