I use this for my outside bird bath. It arrived on time and in good shape. It was easy to assemble. I works perfect! I would recommend this to my family and friends.

Used it to connect a heater for my birdbath

Cord is good quality, but not particularly beneficial if you do not have the LockNDry system. Without the LockNDry system the connection is not waterproof. Works for general applications.

The waterproof extension cord to heat my deck bird bath water is perfect. It's easy to hook up to the bird bath cord. You screw the cover around the indentations on the plug of the bird bath cord. Once that is completed, it is secure and makes the cord waterproof. So when it rains or snows, the water in the bird bath will be safely heated for the birds and any of the other creatures that drink the water.

I purchased this extension cord to use with a bird bath de-icer made by the same company. The locking mechanism is supposed to keep water out of the connection between the de-icer and the extension - guess what, it doesn't actually work! I set this up right before it snowed here in CT, and we discovered after the storm that the de-icer wasn't working. My husband found the water-resistant connector apparatus was completely filled with water. So much for being weatherproof. The de-icer itself is working, but only if used without this useless dead cord. This was a complete waste of money, with no option for a return, replacement, or refund.

This solved my concern of using a heated bird bath. Used this with the API bird bath. So much safer than other setups. If you use it with the bird bath, the bird bath cord is short enough that when you hook this up it will hand under the bath and the connection will be off the ground. The combo is well designed.
