In other words, 6th and 7th are same position on shifter. Normally I use 6 forward gears and use the 7th for a reverse. You could also use all 7 for forward gears and then use a button on your wheel,, button box or keyboard as a reverse gear. Depends on what you are driving. **Q: What is this for? my g29 already has usb. what's the point of this product?** A: That is in case you want to make the G 29 shifter separate as to being part of the G 29 steering wheel. For me I used this item on my G 29 shifter to change over to USB. I use the thrust master h8 shifter as my h style and with a cheap mod turned my h29 shifter Into a usb sequential shifter . Each one goes into a USB hub that I can turn on and off as well as a handbrake for drifting. **Q: Does it work on xbox** A: No, if you refer to the "name brand" of these types of adapters, they clearly state Xbox/Playstation consoles are not compatible. These are plug and play devices for PC only. On a side note, this works perfectly, no drivers needed with the Logitech shifter. I use it with a Thrustmaster wheel. **Q: Will this work with a thrustMaster?** A: I specifically got this to go with my Logitech shifter and it worked perfectly on for a horizon 4 with my thrustmaster steering wheel.
