Leave A Scar

First Cut is the Deepest
A welcome return of Master Snider, he announced in 2019 that he was going to retire, but with the world so messed up at the moment it inspired Dee to get back on the Heavy Metal Horse once more.“Leave a scar” is almost a sequel to the 2018 “For the Love of Metal”, using the same musicians & being produced by Jamey Jasta with the help of Nick Bellmore, but with Dee co-writing all the tracks (there has been some debate on why Dee didn’t have his record produced by someone like Bob Ezrin or Bob Rock, to which Dee replied he wanted a contemporary sounding Metal album, not something retro), .As for subject matter, “Open Season”, “Crying for you Life” & “The Reckoning” deals with people being made accountable for the mess the world is in at the moment.Whereas tracks such as “Down but never out” Dee asks the listener not to give up, but fight for themselves, which has been the theme of many of Dee's songs over the years.“Leave a Scar” is slightly more melodic than “For the Love..”, particularly on “S.H.E” & “Stand”, but the album is still a pretty brutal slice of Metal & shows Dee doesn’t want to rest on his past glories, but still push himself.
