Wow! Black lentils ARE the best!
I made some of these in a spinach onion recipe with labneh. Wow! These are the pertest and tastiest lentils of any I've eaten. Local stores don't sell them so its the first time I've had them. I can see why they call them the "caviar" of lentils. I soaked them overnight and they were done cooking in 11 minutes. They held their shape. No tough skins. Tasty tasty tasty. Even plain by themselves. Worth every penny!

Yummy
These arrived in a timely fashion, intact. I'd never tasted them before, and was curious. They're Good. I especially like them in a mixed grain pilaf with evo, onions, garlic, spices, carrots, and celery. Feels healthy just to think about it. And, they don't turn to mush and disappear into the mix like some lentils do.

Must rinse and pick out debris. Good taste. Not sure if they're black beluga though.
Lots of small twigs and debris. Not sure if these are black beluga lentils or small brown ones. Soaked for 2 hours, cooked. Held shape and taste good.

Hard to find product at a decent price
I ordered these to give them a try. These beluga lentils are not easily found in local markets, even here in the L.A. area. But a pound doesn't last very long. I ordered a larger quantity direct from Palouse also with free shipping and a first-time customer discount.

I LOVE THESE
I love everything about these beautiful little lentils...makes perfect sprouts...shortly after I began enjoying them I was hospitalized with acute pancreitis so couldn't eat ANYTHING...I'm better now and look forward to enjoying them again...I miss them so much.
