After Two Years - Full Review
The Great: We’ve had this mower for two years and it’s held up well. Our lawn is small, but it has mowed quietly enough at midnight not to disturb us or our (fussy) neighbors. I don’t think they even know we have it. It does well in rain, too. Setup wasn’t so bad, except wiring the yard. If you follow videos posted by the company on YouTube (I think from Australia or the UK), it’s pretty easy. Cleaning really has been as easy as hosing it down or even just brushing off accumulated grass clippings with your hand. It’s pretty safe, too. The blades are small and many inches inset from the edges of the machine. It would be difficult for it to accidentally injure our dog or a small animal unless they actively flipped it over and chewed on the tiny blades (our dog has no interest in it). I doubt it would even run her over; it bumps into things softly, like a robot vacuum does (though I don’t think she’d just lie around and let it go over her leg or tail in the first place). The Meh: The app could be better. Occasionally, we’ll find that the device stopped running - for no apparent reason - and we have to hard reboot it and delete and reset our schedule in the app all over again to get it running. The app has also never kept track of previous mows (even though it’s supposed to). Lastly, sometimes the charging indicator is waaay off. It’ll go from 100% to 0% to 5% to 20% in seconds. But it has worked and mowed on schedule most of the time. And, because the blades are inset from the edges of the device (they’re in the middle of the bottom), it doesn’t always get the edges of the lawn done when there’s a flower bed stopping the mower from overshooting the perimeter of the lawn itself. That’s fine. I do the edges it can’t get once a week. I don’t need to do the edges that are adjacent to the sidewalk, since it can overshoot and cut those. The Bad: There is NO customer support in the US. I reached the (I believe it was) Australian customer service, who sent me to the Canadian (“North American,” but really just Canadian) customer service, who sent me to the “US” customer service, but the US team never answered calls or returned emails. The Canadian team couldn’t do US support at the time. If you’re in the US, you won’t get support. (At least, as of late ‘22/early ‘23.) But we eventually got to the bottom of the issue ourselves. Why 5 stars? Despite the flaws, it has been a generally reliable product for about 2 years, and it was a budget option compared to the competition. I’m not sure that paying more for another brand would yield any better results. Value to dollar is great, as who’s gonna get someone to mow their lawn 2-3x/week for 2+ years for under $600 (and not have to worry about locking up dogs/granting yard access)? Who wants to do it themselves on their days off?

wanted to love it...
We've had this unit for nearly a year now and it's been down half the time. It was easy enough to set up using the boundary wire provided. Just expect to spend several hours setting it up. The mover stopped working after approximately three months requiring me to reinstall to install another boundary wire at a cost of $50 to get it working again. I don't know what happened, after one month it's stopped working. I don't know what happened. It's great when it works because it mows the lawn really well saves me almost an hours work per week in the hot sun in southern Florida, unfortunately it isn't reliable. Cannot recommend.

Best customer service ever
Incredibly good product and customer service. The mower will definitely keep my lawn in check, no more manual mowing. 1 year after purchase, my house was struck by lightning. A lot of stuff got fried, including the base station for the mower, not the mower itself. I contacted support, and they promptly sent me a label and a box so that I would send the mower to them for diagnostics and possible repair. In about 3 weeks I got the mower back fully fixed, and it immediately went back into service.. All of that was free of charge. Simply another level of customer service! Great job.

It's okay...
When it's finally working it seems to do what it's supposed to do. Setup was mostly ok. Laying wire into the ground etc. wasn't too difficult. However, I had a tremendous amount of problems with getting the app to work. Eventually I figured out the iOS app has issues. I manually updated the mower (by downloading the update on a computer and downloading update to mower through a USB cable). But iOS app still didn't work. I eventually managed to get things working using the android app through my kid's chromebook. Now it seems to be cutting my lawn ok, but it was frustrating getting it to work. The actual device is fine, but I just don't think Europeans are good at programming and user interfaces for electronic gadgets.

Broken less than 1 year after purchase. Gardena support ignored first repair request & second
I bought a Gardena robot mower a year ago and I regret it. The mower stopped working after a few months and I contacted Gardena for warranty support. I waited for a month and got no reply. I sent them another email and they said they got my email and were going to look into it. Another week passed and still no resolution. I asked them to send me a replacement part, but they ignored me. I searched online and found out that the parts for this mower are not available anywhere and they are proprietary. It seems like Gardena is waiting for my warranty to expire instead of helping me. I do not recommend this product to anyone because Gardena will not honor its warranty and will not help you when you need it. This is a waste of money and time.

Nice mower, pain to setup
The only negative is that it didn't come with anywhere near enough wire. I guess I have too many things to go around in my yard, pool, storm shelter, fire pit, etc. I needed about 200' more but had to buy a 500' spool ($85 at the hardware store). The mower is very quiet and does a nice job. Laying the boundary wire is a pain but I knew that up front. Well worth the trouble once done. I haven't needed tech support but I'm sure it's there. You'll need additional wire and connectors but other than those all you need is in the box. A good buy for what I spent, great for a smallish yard.

After purchasing and owning the top of the line Husqvarna automower 450xh, I was wondering if the minimo could do the job on my city home. It handles my lawn easily. I would say that i am as satisfied with its performance on my 1200sf city lawn as I am satisfied with the 450xh on my 65000sf countryhouse lawn. The minimo keeps the lawn looking perfect with only 3 hours per day at 6 days per week. The 450xh needs 14 hours per day at 7 days per week. Both lawns look amazing. Two excellent machines.

The app is just useless. After I restarted the Gardena Sileno Minimo the app does not recognize the lawnmower and the customer support has only one answer: reinstall the app. I have done it at least ten times and it still not working and no support at all from the company. You can read the reviews for the 5400 sqft and you will see the same major comment: it is the worst customer service you can experience. They do not have support via telephone, only via e-mail. So you write… they answer after two days and they do not help you solve the problems. I had an accident and unfortunately I could not install it before the Amazon return window and now I am stuck with a product which is not working. Please read the reviews and if you decide to buy please try it within the returning window. I have installed the app in my iphone, the android emulators they suggest for windows are not compatible with bluetooth… useless advice.

The mower worked better than expected, it is doing a good job and doesn't need to be supervised often. There's still a couple of issues though. -Make sure to keep your connections out of the way and tack them down very well. -Make sure the wire is well tacked, the mower can indeed cut it if you're not careful. -A very important detail that's not mentioned anywhere, the mower will only work for a certain amount of hours in a specific days, something like 7 hours for this model. Afterward it gives an error message saying it exceeded it's "Daily Limit". What's the point of this limit you might ask? It seems to be the way the company indirectly limit the area the mower is able to mow. Seems to be there exclusively to sell more models with the only difference being the size of the lawn they can mow. I do not approve of this design mentality. If I buy a product, it belongs to me and I am free to use it for however long I want in a day.

This is my first review ever, but I had to come on here to praise the AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE I received. I ordered a Gardena Sileno last year off Amazon and this year the stations connectors burnt out, and my robot was no longer working. I passed by the Gardena office to see if they could help me. From the moment they opened their door to me, Gardena staff were super helpful and kind. It was amazing customer service, they asked me to drop off the lawn mower and all the equipment and they sent me an email right away. They fixed the issue, even though the part affected wasn’t covered by warranty they went above and beyond to fix the issue for me as a one time free of charge service. You don’t find customer service like this everyday. When I went to pick up my mower, not only did the manager chat with me, the technician who worked on it also came out to talk to me and explain the issue and what they fixed and what to look out for. THANK YOU TO SHARUYA, IVY HURLEY AND FADY.TOP TO BOTTOM THIS TEAM WAS VERY HELPFUL, and I really appreciate it.

It looked like a good idea to make my life a little easier. But after days of trying to get it to communicate with my phone I gave up and sent it back. I am sure it works well but I am too old to take it on alone.
