Howard's Crispy Fried Chicken Skins - Chicharrones de Pollo, 1.5oz, Pack of 4

I was looking for different snacks I can have on Keto and found out about chicken skin chips. Have tried other brands so far which price their bags for way to much for what you're getting. I came across these and thought I would give a try. Just received my box today and brought a bag with me to work. I am currently finishing up said bag as I type this, and can say I am very impressed. The amount you get in the bag is better than the other brands for sure... A girl gotta eat. The chips are a bit oilier than the other brands I have; but the taste is delicious and I will definitely be buying this again. I have seen other comments here talking about their chicken skin being rancid or whatever. I guess I'm lucky to have a good batch! I do wish they had other flavors though. However I am very impressed, and I don't leave reviews for just anyone.

The first thing that caught my attention when opening this product's packaging was the difference of the actual product from the images shown in the advertising. What were shown in the advertising as fairly large pieces of chicken skin were in actuality crumbled bits of something I assumed was chicken skin. Taste testing the product was an interesting experience. Some of the pieces were very crunchy and tasty. Some were not. I have included in the pictures a silver dollar for scale to show the size of the pieces and the size of the serving. A feather that was attached to one of the larger pieces is pictured separately. The feather really didn't bother me that much. I've gotten feathers from Colonel Sandals before. This is the 3rd package that I have opened and the other 2 were much the same as this one. Maybe more smaller pieces in those, but this one is indicative of what you get. Pretty pricey for what you get. I gave the product one star only because I assume that what is in the package is what is supposed to be in the package. Not to my taste. Very disappointed. I love chicken skin, usually. But my Malinois loves them.

Firstly, it was delivered well and on time. The bag (actual snack bag, not the Amazon packaging it was in) was difficult to open so I had to use scissors. I was hoping that was an indicator of freshness. It seems it was but unfortunately it sealed a not so great batch. Upon the first look, I noticed they were darker golden brown in color. And to no surprise there is a burnt taste to them. There are about 2-3 in this bag that are lighter golden color, that don’t taste as burnt. They almost taste like pork cracklings from how overcooked they are. A little disappointing because I love how chicken skins are usually easier to chew since they’re not as hard. I’m really hoping the other bags aren’t all like this. I honestly ordered these just because I was curious about this brand. I’ve had another brand that was so delicious, it had me craving chicken skins ..like right at that moment lol! The shipping on these were faster so I said, “why not?” while I wait on my other brand to arrive. (Yeah, the struggle was real and I ordered both.) Well, so far, I don’t think I’ll be giving these another go unless the other bags redeem themselves. I feel like I overpaid for pork rinds :( the more I reach into this bag the less they taste like chicken. Argh.. I will update if I have any better news with the rest!

Very delicious! I was looking an alternative to pork skins. They are crispy and well seasoned. The four bags are small for the price but the product is very good.

Ordered 2 4-packs of these, as an alternative to paying skyrocketing prices for other brands. Those that are on keto (or even low carb) this is a great snack and I've ordered from this brand before knowing that it fills the craving without breaking the wallet, or carb count. And they were good (not the best mind you, but you know what you are paying for). The last batch I ordered were packed in a box, to protect it from crushing, but these were packed in a bag that detreated the bags smushed to little bits and pieces. also, even though the dates were not expired, when opening a bag they smelled rancid (the way uncooked chicken smells when left out too long) and after sampling a small amount, it tasted offal as well. Now mind you, I've ordered this brand of chicken skins before, but have never come away ever with this kind of experience. really disappointed.

They're small and some are stale, and the taste if fresh is good. But it can be salty and very tiny! The cost use to be good at 11.00 for 4 bags. Now it's $14 that's not good, when the quality needs improvement! But I will give a rate of 3.9 due to me buying them in the past.

I really wanted these to taste good but it missed the mark by a wide margin. When I opened the bag, I immediately noticed a stale odor. I thought to myself, it’s probably just me but I was wrong. In addition to a stale taste, I also tasted something akin to rancid oil. And the bag was filled with nothing but crumbs, and it wasn’t the result of shipping. I take part of the blame for how disappointing I am at this purchase. I failed to look at the reviews before I selected them. That’s on me. The poor quality, well that’s on whoever made them.

I really loved these. I wish they came in a larger sized package, but this single serving size is probably for the betterment of my waistline!
