C5 Corvette
I've used this retractable plate rig in the past. But my last one ripped off exiting a parking lot with steep downward incline. Car is lowered and unit mounted to leftside front bumper. So I knew it was a risk due to how low my car is. Easy install but requires some drilling in underside of bumper. But it works as it should when driving and avoids having to put my plate in the front insert which looks awful on a C5.

More a necessity than a desire.
As the title reads, I really did not want to have to buy this item but did so to save in the long run. Backstory: I live in VA and a license plate is required by law on both front and rear. I purchased my car in March '10 from a dealer in NC so it did not have a single hole in the front bumper and I wanted to keep it that way. Miraculously, I was able to maintain my puncture-free bumper well in to this year. Of course, I was pulled over by a state trooper and given a warning to get a bracket in 10 days or it was immediate ticket next time.Basically, I decided on this because it allows a hole to be drilled into the bottom (unseen) portion of the bumper and also to slide in and out. It was extremely easy to install, only 10-15 minutes. The instructions indicate two different installation methods; one with a set of lag screws, the other with machine screws that insert into rubber fittings and expand to secure. I personally use the rubber fittings and have exceeded speed 130 mph without any sign of it loosening or even moving.5 stars because it fulfills its purpose.

Its not bad
I would definitely check your bumper and preplan a mounting spot, if it has anything the touches the front peice it doesnt sit very well when fully displayed. Hard to explain via text you'd have to see to understand.

Stay Legal, Still Look Sharp
Moved to Ohio and had to have a front plate for my 2016 Charger. Dodge does have 'dimples' in the bumper to install their front bracket, but the factory one is horrible cheap plastic and the idea of drilling holes into the front of the car was not something I wanted to do.I still had to drill a couple of small holes in the bottom of the bumper but the rubber inserts were a tight fit (be sure to use the right size drill bit - it is CRITICAL.) I was able to use one of the existing bumper screws and provided bracket to mount the back half of the plate holder.I would recommend sealing the rubber inserts with epoxy if possible to ensure they won't work their way out.The whole operation took less than 15 minutes, including jacking up the front, locating the best mounting point (I opted for dead center), drilling the two holes I need to, then assembly.Quick. Easy. Legal. And looks like it part of the car. Thanks guys.

Be cautious of how low the plate sits after installing
I'm a big fan of this product, seeing as I just got a new bumper put on my '04 RX8, and I want to show it off without having its appearance ruined by the bright orange NY license plates. It works as advertised, and is fairly easy to install.Would give it 5 stars, but I wish they gave me more of a warning about how low the plate sits. It's probably a good 1.5-2 inches underneath the car, which causes it to scrape like hell when I go over any small bump. Even in the "plate visible" position, it still rests lower than the bumper. Low enough that the plate managed to fold itself under the car and bend the bracket while driving when I hit a bump.I'll admit, the RX8 is a naturally low sitting car, so most probably won't have this problem, but I have scraped most of the paint off my license plate, as well as done a fair amount of damage to the bracket (which I'm sure they won't accept as a return) and had to order a different bracket that sits higher (which required drilling more holes into my precious new bumper)

Easy to Install
Amazon delivered this on only one day!Took all but 30 minutes to installInstructions are very straight forward.I purchased the MANUAL pull styleBecause numerous thieves have tried to steal my front personal plate. Now when I park,I simply fold in and park very close to the curb so it can’t be pulled back out.The plate holder itself is made from rigid plastic, and the slide and hardware are made from steel.Pretty good quality .Hope it holds up !I lost about a 1/2” of undercarriage,My car’s splitter bumper is less than 5”. But it looks pretty good
